Am I the only one who noticed that in britney's performane, the "hold on to ur hats and glasses cause this here is the wildest ride in the wilderness!" part when she coming down from the ceiling[it was remixed into the song]..its from Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in WDW and the magic kingdom.

as for Clay and Ruben's duet well lets just say i thought it was amazing how they sang some of those notes. I didn't see anyother performances besides those 2 and Britney(did she lip-synched)?? so i was kinda hoping to catch Hilary Duff just to see what she did, but i guess i missed a good laugh!

Guys enough!
Lizzie McGuire: Sarah is right. Everybody can't agree on anything. Maybe you like Hilary Duff but other people here don't. Everybody is entitled to their own opinions and if you don't like negative things being said about your favorite person, don't read it. Nobody is holding a gun to your head to make you read it. I think this thread has gone way off course. If this continues, I'm going to close it and that's the last thing I want to do with such a legitimate and good thread like this one. |

Best performances:
Clay singing invincible. Iv'e never really listened to this kids music, but the dudes got talent! He performed better than most of the more established artists that performed I thought. Also, Clay and Ruben's duet of a Christian song was really good. Tobey Keith's performance was awesome! Which is also weird, because I usually don't like Country, but I enjoyed both of the Country performances, especially Toby's. Best Moments: Seeing Luther Vandross win two awards, and having his mother go onstage to accept the award on his behalf. And for anyone who thinks he got these awards out of pity, no way! His music is way better than the crap he was nominated against. Clay winning for fan choice award was awesome. I literally laughed my butt off when this walk on of some reality tv show, got more votes from the fans than people like: Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, and Tim Mcgraw, etc. Seeing all those guys being humbled by a nice guy like Clay was awesome! I also liked seeing Paula Abdul's reaction, and how proud she seemed. I was glad to see Matchbox 20 get nominated. When their name was mentioned, they got one of the loudest cheers of the night. They should have been nominated more, and they definitely shouldn't have lost to Fleetwood Mac in my opinion. As much as I like Fleetwood Mac, I think Matchbox 20 put out the better music this year. I was terribly disappointed to see that they didn't get the respect they deserved! I thought it was cool seeing Christian music being honored once again at this years show. My two pet peeves with this was, why do they call it inspirational music? It's called Christian music. Maybe they don't notice the mention of Jesus, and God, and Heaven in most of the songs. It seems like they're scared to say the word Christian or something. Anyway it was cool seeing Steven Curtis Chapman win, but I was rooting for Mercy me. Steven wins every award he's up for. I just hope that they nominate more Christian artists next year. There are tons of great Christian performers who are just as good, and usually better than most of todays mainstream music. More of them deserve to be a part of the show next year. Worst performances: Hilary Duff. I don't want this thread to be stopped on account of me, so you all can just try and read my thoughts as to what I thought of her performance. Rod Stewart. What is up with this Jazz kick he's been on for the last few years? Nothing against Jazz, but I do have a problem with Rod Stewart trying to sing it. His performance nearly put me to sleep. I think Rod Stewart needs to go back to his roots. This Jazz stuff he's doing now, got old as soon as he started singing it! Fleetwood Mac. This actually surprised me, because their performance was one of the few I was actually looking forward to hearing, but I thought they sounded awful! Especially Lindsay, I thought he sounded sick or something. Maybe it was just the fact that they were via satellite that made them sound so bad, but something just wasn't right. I was also disappointed that they didn't sing say you will. I love that song! Kid Rock. I thought his rendition of Feel Like Making Love was embarrassing. I didn't know whether to laugh at his performance, or cry at the fact that he butchered a great song that I will never be able to listen to the same way again. Here's a little advice for Kid Rock: Please stick to your own crappy music, and stop turning other people's into crap! Britney Spears. I listened to about a minute of her performance, and had to leave the room, I was so appauled. I can't believe people can actually enjoy, and listen to that crap! Worst moments: Seeing Kid Rock win the final award of the night. Macy Grays boring rant before finally revealing the winner of the award she was presenting. Having to see Justin Timberlake's face every 15 to 20 minutes. And having one of those Country guys presenting the best Christian artist call Steven Curtis Chapman, Steven Curtis Travis. Is it that hard to read three words on an envelope? |
