It looks really funny.
Thanks for this, Superbowl, looks like they took this link down though, so I just checked it out on the CBS site instead. I watched (at work, whoops) and my coworkers thought I was crazy b/c I kept laughing out loud. This looks hysterical! My favorite is the incredibly nerdy roommate, I'm one of those people who's always thought making fun of nerds never gets old. probably because I am one. I'm def gonna watch this.

I agree. When I watched the preview I laughed more than any other time watching a sitcom preview in quite a few years. The Big Bang Theory looks like it could be very, very good. Chuck Lorre may have done it again.

By the way, here is the site for anyone who wants to see the preview :

Jericho will return for seven episodes in mid-season now (see below). Also, CBS has picked up the sitcom The Captain for mid-season. What a late pick-up!

JERICHO PICKED UP FOR MIDSEASON -- A LETTER FROM NINA TASSLER TO "JERICHO" FANS

To the Fans of Jericho:

Wow!

Over the past few weeks you have put forth an impressive and probably unprecedented display of passion in support of a prime time television series. You got our attention; your emails and collective voice have been heard.

As a result, CBS has ordered seven episodes of "Jericho" for mid-season next year. In success, there is the potential for more. But, for there to be more "Jericho," we will need more viewers.

A loyal and passionate community has clearly formed around the show. But that community needs to grow. It needs to grow on the CBS Television Network, as well as on the many digital platforms where we make the show available.

We will count on you to rally around the show, to recruit new viewers with the same grass-roots energy, intensity and volume you have displayed in recent weeks.

At this time, I cannot tell you the specific date or time period that "Jericho" will return to our schedule. However, in the interim, we are working on several initiatives to help introduce the show to new audiences. This includes re-broadcasting "Jericho" on CBS this summer, streaming episodes and clips from these episodes across the CBS Audience Network (online), releasing the first season DVD on September 25 and continuing the story of Jericho in the digital world until the new episodes return. We will let you know specifics when we have them so you can pass them on.

On behalf of everyone at CBS, thank you for expressing your support of "Jericho" in such an extraordinary manner. Your protest was creative, sustained and very thoughtful and respectful in tone. You made a difference.

Sincerely,

Nina Tassler

President, CBS Entertainment

P.S. Please stop sending us nuts J

I know I will be watching when Jericho returns. Hopefully, so will millions of others -- enough to justify even more episodes. What a great show of force by television fans.

Two really nice and detailed reviews of The Big Bang Theory :

From: The Couch Potato ( 4 1/2 out of 5 stars) :

"I recently received a Fall 2007 Preview disc which included pilots from most of their new shows for next fall. One of these shows were the Big Bang Theory. Before watching the pilot I have to admit I wasn’t expecting much from this show. I thought it was going to be another average comedy. After watching the episode I was amazed at how wrong I was. The Big Bang Theory is a great comedy."

From The Futon Critic ( 3 out of 4 stars) :

"The bottom line: ...a lot of fun."

That is for critics only to review the shows. They are not for sale.

More great reviews coming in for The Big Bang Theory. From Marc Berman or Mediaweek :

Quote:
Surprisingly, I was blown away by the pilot for CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory because what may sound like a generic bore (two nerdy roommates befriend their hot new neighbor—blah, blah, blah…) was actually a laugh-out-loud riot. The casting (Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons and Kaley Cuoco) is flawless, the chemistry is surprisingly strong and the potential for long-term storytelling is obvious.

If The Big Bang Theory can build on the lead-in audience from the modest How I Met Your Mother (not a difficult task by any means), CBS could be looking at its first breakout comedy since Two and a Half Men. (Certainly, Men's Jon Cryer is a card-carrying member of nerd nation as well. Remember Duckie?)

Murtz Jaffer Reviewing The Big Bang Theory for CTV in Canada :

Quote:
Big Bang Theory is hilarious. I think the majority of you who have followed my television tastes, know that I am generally not a big comedy fan. But when you take two nerds and have them living beside a really hot blonde girl, I guess my tastes change (perhaps I identify with the situation or something). I have high hopes for this show. The pilot was very funny and the dialogue was brilliant. It starts off with the two lead characters, Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Sheldon (Jim Parsons) making donations at a sperm bank. They soon have a change of heart and demand that they get their deposits back. The show only gets funnier as they return home to find a stunning new neighbor, Penny, moving in. It's definitely worth a laugh or two when the pair invite her over to eat and she ends up asking if she can use their shower. We find out that Sheldon measures his social superiority with the number of 'friends' he has on Myspace and that the pair like to party by playing Klingon Boggle until 1:00 a.m. The comedy only gets better when Leonard and Sheldon's actual friends show up. The show is smart and funny and I loved it. It is a significant improvement over the comedies that I saw last year and I think that with the network securing the rights to creator Chuck Lorre's other show (Two And A Half Men and pairing it alongside established hits like Corner Gas and Robson Arms, the Big Bang Theory is that this show is destined for success.
