I was kinda disappointed with the reunion. I agree that it should've been 2 hours. I wanted to see more.

Fairly good! The main part appears to have taken place in Bonnie Franklin's own home- and it was good to see that she and the girls are actually friends! Also, it was encouraging that Nanette Fabray's in good health and seems to have barely aged since the show (same with Bonnie). Wonder what her niece Shelley was thinking with that punk hair, though? While it was good that they actually acknowledged Mackenzie's problems and how she's moved past them, I'm curious why they avoided ALL mentions of Howard Hesseman's stint as Ann's 2nd husband in the last year? Not that I think he'd be as happy to reminience about ODAAT experiences as Pat Harrington, Richard Masur,Micheal Lembeck were but still. .

Viewers: 9.94 million (2nd in timeslot from 9-9:20pm, According to Jim took 2nd from 9:20-10pm, leaving the reunion in 3rd place)
A18-49: 2.9/7 (4th in timeslot)

That's because Happy Days has been on National Cab;e for 3 years. One Day at a Time has been on National Cable for 0 years in the 2000 era. So That's why the Ratings were not as high as HD

I absolutely agree with you Solomon. Happy Days has the advantage because it has been on TVLAND and other places. One Day At A Time has not. That's the ONLY reason.

I haven't even seen the show, but I watched the reunion because it looks like a good show. I don't know why this show isnt popular with cable and syndication.

CBS didn't hype up the reunion anywhere NEAR as much as ABC did with the HD reunion; most non-tvjunkies that I've talked to at least heard about the HD reunion, and got a chance to watch it either the first or second time - ODAAT barely had any promotion by comparison.`

That is the reason behind the lower ratings. I don't think it has to do with it not airing on cable television. Though, Happy Days is way more popular than One Day at a Time.

Again, the reason Happy Days is more popular is because a whole new generation of viewers have been exposed to it. Give ODAAT a run on TVLAND or TBS and allow new viewers to be exposed to it. This show is of higher quality than HD.

I always thought OD was one of the best shows of the 70s. It was my favorite while growing up, and I do find it more entertaining than Happy Days and even many modern shows. I wonder how it got lost in the shuffle after it signed off??

Cool Back in the 70s

For me it was the opposite. I was watching Happy Days pretty much on a regular basis because of its characters and storylines which were all too often from a male perspective.

One Day at the Time on the other hand wasn't as provocative as compared to All in the Family and was best remembered with storylines from a female perspective which I didn't always easily related to.

That said, I was glad to see everyone appeared well at the One Day at the Time reunion special.

It was a great reunion. I would have liked it to be longer but it was great seeing most of the cast alive and well. Now its time for a tv network to pick up ODAAT.

Default I liked it.

I thought that it was well put together for a one hour special. I am watching it again for the 3rd time. I transferred my copy onto DVD this morning. I am not sure what the deal was with Shelly. I am assuming that Shelly was being interviewed in between takes for some movie or a play. I pray that is the reason. I wonder why Boyd Gaines and Howard Hessman did not appear?

Probably because the characters they played weren't essential and came later in the show's run. Glenn Scarpelli was weak also, but he got some recognition on the special.

I actually watched the reunion on the first season DVD. Everyone looked great, happy and healthy. Too bad it wasn't longer.

I love TV retrospectives, especially after many years have passed. I would so love to see retrospectives on Barney Miller, Family, WKRP, Good Times, and more.
