They might as well just push everything back an hour, preempt The Forgotten, and just air a Scrubs repeat or something at 10:30.

I'm hearing everything will air as normal from 8:30-11pm. Charlie Brown will be preempted in the East/Central...but it airs the following week at 8 anyway. Confirmation soon.

Now Two and A half Men will face the second Scrubs and NCIS the first scrubs and those shows rerun well. NCIS LA rerun would help Scrubs, now there is stronger competition on CBS. Bummer

we say it every year and every year i dont get it. ABC comedies dipped to new lows last night with CT getting a 1.9. Why they couldnt use beyonce and Mcartney from 8-10 is beyond me. They could have had GA reruns tonight or even THE POLAR EXPRESS. Of course every other net held up better than ABC. I think Pavan you said the affiliates want fresh eps. It makes zero sense to me, since the specials probably wouldnt have done much worse and then they could have had two weeks of new shows in a row. Instead most of the comedies are reruns next week. ALso. there is no sense in leaving EASTWICK on this night. They are not promoting it, and I don't think it's helping CT. MF and CT had their best eps last night and were seen by far less people. NBC preempted L&O with TBL and to no surprise did quite well. Hell even a 2 hour best of DWTS season 9 would have done ok and helped save fresh eps for next week. Now people will probably spin that ABC comedies arent so hot. To me, and I know to you too Pavan, there is never an upside to this and they do it every year.

isnt it strange how outside of Tom mentioning it very briefly on DWTS, this has had no promotion.

I hope ABC reruns this one night in primetime before the end of the year

I love ABC. I think they are the best network in terms of taking chances, development, promotion and marketing. But the scheduling the last 2 nights is prime evidence of why I feel they dont schedule to their benefit.

The comedies should not have run this WED. They could easily have run the music specials on Wed night, after Charlie Brown. CB got a 2.0 on Thanksgiving, could have pulled a 2.5 on wed night. FOX movie did great which really proves a family movie could have done well that night. Instead of wasting THE POLAR EXPRESS on Sat night dec 12th, they could have run it on Thurs night followed by a GA rerun at 10p or some other special.

This way they could have had 2 consecutive weeks of new eps of Wed comedies. Instead fantastic episodes this week were seen by far less. There is a break next week and then they have one week of new eps til January. That to me is not maximizing your assets. The shows got lower ratings points this week and could again the 9th since people might assume they are done til Jan.

I also dont understand letting UB run tonight on low rated Thanksgiving weekend with zero promotion, while Eastwick is still getting burnt off in a more high profile slot.

I agree this sends a bad message, plus Lambert is a much bigger draw.

AFV never gets promos. They will promote it tonight in primetime a few times during Supernanny/Betty and again tomorrow on Saturday Night Football.

LOST :30 promo launched today during College Football and will run again tomorrow during football.

As for the comedies, I agree with everything you said. But it would be weird to have Thanksgiving episodes NEXT week (Dec. 2). ABC realizes the Thanksgiving Eve problem but they have to keep the affiliates happy. I'm not worried on how well the Dec. 9 episodes will do. ABC will have ample amount of promotion for them and they are all Christmas episodes.
The Middle is new next week (Dec. 2).

ABC still hasn't confirmed if they are airing the Presidential Address on Tuesday. CBS, NBC and Fox have confirmed they will air it. If ABC does air it, it will just bump Charlie Brown Christmas in the 8pm half-hour for East/Central only.

Hi Pavan,

Have you heard if ABC is ordering more eps of their Wed comedies, or maybe even CASTLE?

It seems to me a no borainer to do at least 24 eps of the comedies, since they will only have to produce 23, since the pilot was filmed last Spring, unless it's a money issue.

Also, assuming DWTS launches Mar 8th, I assume the first results show would be March 16th. If THE FORGOTTEN last new ep is this week, that will give them enough to run every week (except FEB 2nd when LOST launches) starting Jan 5th finishing March 9th. Also V could launch March 16th and 9 eps will give them enough til the second to last week of season. Last week will be 2 hour DWTS and LOST.

Also I have heard from multiple places that SCRUBS has 13 eps, so they could run every week (except Feb 2nd) and finish Mar 2nd. BOT could finish Mar 9th with back to back eps.

I don't have any official details, but Castle, Modern Family and Cougar Town could have 24 episodes. It would make sense, especially since Castle will air all season in the 10pm Monday slot. They could have 24 for Private Practice as well. I don't think Ugly Betty will have its normal 24 this year.

And the March dates you mentioned sounds good to me.

As for this Adam Lambert stuff, frankly I don't care, but ABC will have him on Jimmy Kimmel on Dec. 17.

I think he's a major star.

By the way, since UB finished some story lines last night, I wonder if ABC will air the last 2 during the week, maybe they'll announce Monday. Anyone that missed the first 7 can just join with ep 8, since they finsihed Wilhemina and her daughter and daniel and the cult. Plus they have special guest star Shakira. They seem very high on Bahams ep, they sent it out for review, seems strange to leave EASTWICK on wed and let Betty that they are proud of languish on Friday
