Do you think it's possible that ABC will launch Lost in March ?

Because we are late November, and there is still no air date for a January premiere. And if Lost starts in late January or early February, do you think it's a good idea to air 3 or 4 episode, then a hiatus for the Olympics, then new episodes starting March ?

Would'nt be better to air the final season without any interruption between March and May ? With that option, ABC could make a huge premiere event with a 2-night 4-hour premiere in March (like 24 in January) and/or a huge finale event with a 2-night 4-hour finale in May.

I don't think that is possible because there wouldn't be 16 weeks left. And I think ABC is better off airing it for 4 episodes and then 14 more. The Olympic break is only 2 weeks.

It's way too valuable to them to wait til March. All their scripted shows should take off those 2 weeks. I assume they will announce midseason sked between now and Thanksgiving which is next week (maybe late tomorrow).
I feel like they are waiting for FOX. Maybe I am wrong but I would assume they will want to run promos during DWTS finale.

Interesting to launch it in February, but not sure why. I'd think it would be more logical to premiere it in mid-January like they have before, air it up until the Winter Olympics, give it a 2 week break, then resume it after the Olympics. This way, it'll be airing against the Olympics.

Still, Tuesdays at 9pm were pretty much a given. The rest of the schedule falls into place now. Tuesdays at 10pm will be The Forgotten until March, when V and DWTS will air at either 8 or 10pm. UB will surely go to Wednesdays, but at 8 or 10? My guess is 8pm, where it will finish out its season until March, giving The Middle a break. The Middle will then return with Romantically Challenged in March. Inside the Box or Happy Town will probably go to Wednesdays at 10pm, although I'd personally like to see one air Sundays at 10pm, shifting B&S to Wednesdays at 10pm.

I think cause Idol starts Jan 20th so the only other week would be jan 28th. not sure why they chose one week later, i am sure there is a reason

I highly doubt they are breaking up the comedy block. UB would be at 10 if it moves.

Now, I think ABC will air new episodes against the Olympics.

They would have to air new episodes against the Olympics I think. Plus, why premiere the show, have it air for 2 weeks, then put it on hiatus for 2 weeks? Like you said tvcrazed, there must be some reason why they chose the later premiere instead of the 2 week Olympic hiatus.

And after last night's numbers, the MF repeat/The Middle duo are actually the best thing to happen to the night. Everything on ABC was up last night, and The Middle hit a season high (since the premiere). They probably will just move it to Wednesdays at 10pm, especially if they have either Inside the Box/Happy Town ready to go for January.

It seems like it is consecutive with no breaks now, so yeah it would air againts Olympics. I guess that is why they started later to not break it up. Thats cool. In this case airing againt Olympics doesnt bother me, because they are not taking breaks and because there are people that watch other things (like me) plus in this DVR age it doesnt matter.

With their other hits there will be breaks during season so it makes sense to not waste new eps during olympics.

ABC ANNOUNCES THE PREMIERE OF THE SIXTH AND FINAL SEASON OF "LOST," WITH A SPECIAL ALL-NIGHT EVENT ON TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 2
ABC announces the premiere of the sixth and final season of "Lost," with a special all-night event on Tuesday, February 2. A recap special will kick off the night from 8:00-9:00 p.m., ET, followed by the much anticipated two-hour premiere from 9:00-11:00 p.m.

The series will then air in its regular time period - Tuesday nights from 9:00-10:00 p.m., ET - beginning the following week, on February 9.

"Lost" stars Naveen Andrews as Sayid, Nestor Carbonell as Richard Alpert, Emilie de Ravin as Claire, Michael Emerson as Ben, Jeff Fahey as Frank Lapidus, Matthew Fox as Jack, Jorge Garcia as Hurley, Josh Holloway as Sawyer, Daniel Dae Kim as Jin, Yunjin Kim as Sun, Ken Leung as Miles, Evangeline Lilly as Kate, Terry O'Quinn as Locke and Zuleikha Robinson as Ilana.

"Lost" was created by Jeffrey Lieber and J.J. Abrams & Damon Lindelof. Abrams, Lindelof, Bryan Burk, Jack Bender, Edward Kitsis, Adam Horowitz, Jean Higgins and Carlton Cuse serve as executive producers. "Lost," which is filmed entirely on location in Hawaii and premiered on September 22, 2004, is from ABC Studios.

I would guess in January they will have to fill the Tuesday 8pm hour for 4 weeks with repeats or specials...or Shark Tank. Scrubs/Ted/fogotten from 9-11pm. Then in February the comedies slide to 8pm, with LOST and the forgotten from 9-11pm.
In March I think V will return and move to 10pm replacing the forgotten and Dancing results likely at 8.

Wednesdays at 10 is a question mark still, maybe Ugly Betty moves there in January...or Wife Swap. Or Wife Swap can air Fridays. They are not going to break-up the comedy block from 8-10, or you would have saw LOST there at 8. The 8pm half-hour will likely be repeats of MF and The Middle until March.

Wife Swap/Supernanny on Fridays is best. It's cheap, and both seem to work better when airing together. Ugly Betty's best option is Wednesdays at 10pm, and there's definitely still life in it. Is there any word on when any of the new dramas will premiere this season? My guess is one would go to Wednesdays at 10pm in March, although I wish ABC would take a risk and put somethiing like Happy Town after Desperate Housewives.

I'm glad Lost isn't going off the air for the Olympics. Not everyone watches them and I want Lost to just show all their episodes without a break.
