I also would like to "Man who Sold the World" by Nirvana to my favorites. Also, Ruben Studdard's cover of "Imagine" by John Lennon, and Clay Aiken's "Bridge Over Troubled Water." Those guys were awesome last Tuesday night.

You Make Me Feel Brand New- Simply Red, took a song cut way too many times and made it understated and meaningful again Gotta be There- Chaka Khan- outdoes Michael Jackson who was only like 13 when he cut it the first time Until You Come Back to Me- Aretha Franklin- first done by Stevie Wonder Here You Come Again- Dolly Parton- BJ Thomas did it first. Dolly did it better Any Day Now- Ronnie Milsap- very good singer Don't Ask My Neighbor and Let it Be Me- Bobby Caldwell- nice remakes A House is Not A Home- Luther Vandross- probably his best cover tune ever Hurting Each Other- Carpenters- better than Ruby and the Romantics' original quite a few others.... Least favorite: Anything redone on record for American Idol or the Radio Disney kids, everything on Gloria Estefan's 1994 covers album, and almost every tune sampled by a rapper in the last 15 years |
