I'll say. Considering the 5th season probably won't premiere until 2006, the cast can star in movies and plays, write movies and plays, travel the world a few times, cure cancer, etc.

I wonder if Furio is leaving the show or will he come back to fight for Carmella. The show is doing a real good job of making Tony a very unlikeable character. Even though Tony always did horrible things, for some reason, it's starting to wear on me this season. A part of me kinda wanted Furio to toss him into those helicopter blades. I can't wait to see who gets whacked in the series finale!

The Sopranos didn't knock me out this week but was a vast improvement over last week. The scene where Furio was going to shove Tony into the helicopter blades was just insane. I don't think Furio's coming back. He's gone the way of the Russian and Melfi's rapist.
Weird stuff with Paulie killing the old day. I don't get the point other than to illustrate what a nutjob he is, and we already knew that. I've enjoyed this season, but I think it's sort of gone downhill the last few weeks.
We've got the 75 minute finale coming up. It had better be good. Perhaps Paulie's going to whack Johnny Sac for playing him for a fool.

Furio taking out Tony would be the pits. If Furio is so stuck on Tony's wife he should tell Tony to his face. Anything less than that would be chickendoo and repulsive. These guys are supposed to have more nads than most of us do. That's why they chose or were chosen to be mobsters. I'm wondering if Tony knows what's been going on and has plans for Furio that we haven't anticipated.

I don't think that Tony suspects about Carmella and Furio having the major hots for each other. I do think he knows that Furio was trying to kill him. He did say, What the F are you doing?", and it appeared to sober Tony up.
Furio must know this which would explain his abrupt departure--that and knowing he has to get away from Carm for both their goods.

I have to say,I was disappointed with the finale. Not much happened in the 75 minutes it was on. Carmine lives, Johnny Sac gets screwed and Tony and Carmella split up. I guess the split will pave the way for Dr. Melfi's return. Tony should have whacked that arrogant lawyer or at the very least take out the Russian chick. One thing positive was Edie Falco, she deserves an emmy after her performance last night. Very powerful stuff. Overall I have to say I was kind of disappointed with this year's season. It was good, but not great.

I give the overall season a B. Nothing great, but not terrible. What frustrates me is how good the show could be--the potential is there. The viewers have better ideas most of the time, or at least the viewers I talk to. Edie Falco did deliver a fantastic performance sans the makeup and done-up hair.
It seemed odd, that after years of Tony's philandering, that Carm got so angry over a phonecall. I mean, where's the newsflash? Everyone has their breaking point I guess. A lot of it may have to do with her feelings for Furio, and speaking of that, I'm surprised Tony didn't make more of that after his initial outburst.
I liked the finale, but I would've liked it more if it had some violence. I'll admit, I watch The Sopranos, in part, for the violence.
I was irritated when the Russian girl wasn't home. I at least wanted Tony to scream at her.
The actor who played the lawyer was good. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw him again. Those Dean Martin tapes playing from the boat were hilarious.
Last season, when the show ended, I felt sad. This time, I'm like....whatever.
David Chase needs to get a clue and stop resting on his laurels.

I thought that last show was nearly excellent. Complex, realistic, covered a lot of ground without sensationalizing each segment of the story lines. I agree that the attorney was great and his wife was also very good. Dean Martin from the boat was much more imaginitive than just wacking the guy. It shows a game of wits being played out.
Carmella's character is more mixed up then we've thought. That's what I get from Tony telling her what he told her in their yelling match after the Furio addmission. And just like any family, no matter who is right or wrong, there is that sadness that becomes the main story in the midst of a breakup. They did a good job of making us feel that with Meadow and Anthony getting upset like children when Tony told them he would be moving out.
Janice--Christopher having those guys killed in a blizzard of bulletts wasn't enough violence for you, lol?

LOL, I guess not. I wanted to see some action with perhaps Paulie and Johnny Sac or, as I mentioned, Tony with Irena--violence with characters we know. I think a scene was called for Tony going nuts at Irena, punching her walls in and throwing things at her.
I agree that Meadow and AJ's reaction to their parent's breakup was superb. It was done well.
This episode was different, and I liked it, but like some people, I was expecting an exciting mobster-fest.

I know what you mean, lol. It seems like the Paulie and the Carmine stiuation, among others needed some movement or finality. I think what happened here -- I'm at the writer's meeting now -- they had to decide on family dilemas or mobster dilemas. Plus they had to create some new dilemas such as the attorney and the beach house situation. Not enough time to flesh out everything so they went with the personal family situations. The family situation was being neglected, in a way. Viewers had to have been asking how the Soprano family could go on as they were without the crudola hitting the fan.

I don't have a problem with the writers dealing with some family issues, but it's going inside the mafia that inrigues me the most about the show. Hopefully, they'll continue the storyline with Johnny Sac and Carmine next season.(Whenever that'll be.)

Good news. The 5th season is scheduled for September, and that's September of 2003, not 2004 or 2005, lol.
Any Six Feet Under fans? It's a brilliant show. They haven't given a start date, but my guess is February.
