I do want to see the rest of the series released but I'm kind of glad they've put it on hiatus for now. There's so many other sets that I want to buy now and I can't afford them all at the same time. Everything seems to be getting released at the same time this year.

Yeah I know what you mean, WBK, Jeffersons, and AITF. I would love all of them but Can't be shelling out $600 for TV shows when I need more important things. I will be paying for the Jeffersons lol

I found out that the reason this series is so freaking expensive is because they are manufactured on demand. You would almost think that would make them less expensive since the DVD's themselves aren't pressed. Sure, it's not mass-produced but my question is WHY? What makes this series any different from most of the other series that are mass-produced. I don't get it. You have to really search DEEP in the darkest pits of the internet to find each season for under 20 dollars, and even then, it's rare to find.....I mean, it's no wonder they aren't selling the way they would have hoped at those prices. I mean, I bought them, but I think it would harm potential sales. I'm so sick of waiting on this show.

Actually, if you order within a reasonable timeframe of the release date, you do receive pressed DVDs. I have seasons 1-4 and the complete series of "Flo" and all of my DVDs are pressed. I ordered direct from Warner Archive.

I get that. I guess it's just odd to me that Alice (a top 10 sitcom for almost 10 years) isn't mass produced and instead is released ON DEMAND on DVD-R (unless you buy early), while the other equally, or sometimes much less popular shows are pressed whether you buy them early or years later.

Oh well.

Does anyone think this will be a case where Warner stops and ultimately a company like Shout Factory will release the entire series?

Hopefully not.

I was surprised because they were being released at a fast pace especially when Flo was released

The more I think about it, perhaps they did just intend on releasing the "FLO" episodes of Alice and that's why they stopped. Maybe they figure that's the episodes most people want? I dunno.

I think it was stupid for them to release FLO before the entire series. As my stepdad used to say

A$$Backwards

The Flo seasons are my favorites but I'd still like to see all the seasons released. Some of the other seasons I have never seen before and it would be a treat.

I am sure WB will bring season 5 in 2015 or right before it starts. WB is known to surprise us with Alice releases with no notice at all..lol.

When asked on their Facebook page, they have been responding with the standard 'no plans at this time' about S5 for the past year. Two years ago, they were raving about the 'unprecedented response' [to the earlier seasons] and seemed excited to be announcing each upcoming release.
