![]() I know what you mean. I've never even set foot in Texas but I've always been fascinated with it. I was even a Cowboys fan before this show premiered. Plus I always liked westerns and a lot of them took place in Texas. Their was a lot that appealed to me.

You're right, to an extent; the accents were not that pronounced, and sometimes absent. But Dallas/Ft. Worth, especially Dallas is relatively cosmopolitan. I wouldn't be surprised to hear more and more people there not having much of a southern accent. People I know from Dallas, who were born, even, in foreign countries, but have lived in Dallas for at least two or three decades, do have a trace of a Texas accent. So I suppose the lack of it with the Dallas actors may be a little unrealistic--but I still believe the acting was superb. One of the greatest TV shows of all time, in my opinion.

I did...ONCE. In syndication I can't watch the show after Victoria (Pamela) was in that car accident, I just couldn't see the show anymore. That is why I won't buy the DVD's after that period.

The last 2 seasons were painful. Bobby and JR were the only ones left at SF and the younger new actors sucked. . They made JR stupid...he didn't win any battles anymore and he got locked up in a sanatarium by his son and his wife....that was a low point. I intend to get all seasons. I hope they release them all.

I lived in San Angelo in west Texas for a few months while in the military. The people I met there were among the kindest, warmest, most open people I've ever met.

Welcome. The acting on DALLAS certainly was superb. And YES, you are right. It is one of the best tv shows of all time...ever! It set the standard for nighttime soaps, it spun off another great show KNOTS LANDING and of course came along those other nighttime shows like DYNASTY.

I always liked George Kennedy but Carter McKay was not a strong character. Dallas would have been better served if they kept Jeremy Wendell on until the end. He was JR's equal. And the guy was just evil.

I love George Kennedy as an actor, always have. But it is true what you say, his character was not strong and really, not needed. It just was another attempt at another sort of feud that came out of nowhere.

It seemed after Victoria left the show, a few characters popped in that should never have appeared. Let's start with J.R.'s wife Callie. Now that whole storyline was garbage. The J.R. we all knew from day one would never have allowed that to even occur.
