Maybe now that WAT and CSI are together again, I'll watch CSI. Shark bores me.

Cane looks great(there are previews at cbs.com), but as far as the Fall goes, that's it for me. Unfortunately, it's in a terrible timeslot with a very weak lead-in. It really should have gone elsewhere... like after CSI. Why CBS moved WAT back to Thursday when A. The rest of the night is aging and weakening(quickly), and B. They just moved it to Sunday last year and it did great(always won the timeslot), I don't know.

I can't believe they picked up Kid Nation.

No, it'll be on at 10pm ET/PT(9pm Central), and probably frequently during the Fall pushed back to 10:30 or later due to NFL overruns. Viva Laughlin airs at 8/7 Central.

The advertisers think The Big Bang Theory is the show that will make it on CBS, and Viva Laughlin is a loser. I found this excerpt from an article on media buying from mediaweek :

Over at CBS, sitcom The Big Bang Theory, hammocked into its Monday comedy block and starring 8 Simple Rules’ Kaley Cuoco, is seen as a winner. Cane, a drama about a Cuban-American family in the sugar cane business, with two feuding brothers, and starring Jimmy Smits, is well done, but buyers wonder whether the storyline will play well in non-metro markets; NBC’s highly touted Hispanic-themed Kingpin bombed a few years ago.

Buyers agreed that Fox’s new shows are better than last season, but they are not happy that it plans to shuffle its slate in mid-season. Of particular concern is shifting Bones from Tuesday to Friday, a move that killed Fox hit Dark Angels a few years back.

Grey’s Anatomy’s huge female audience will flow right into this drama about dysfunctional, womanizing CEOs.

Back to You (Fox, Wed., 8)
A sitcom with Kelsey Grammer and Patricia Heaton should draw ratings on any network.


Networks' Losers:

Viva Laughlin (CBS, Sun., 8)
BBC spinoffs rarely work on American TV, and Cop Rock-type singing cast will have viewers hoping for Sun. afternoon football overruns.

Life (NBC, Wed., 10)
Ex-con-turns-detective show is in a tough time period and has a low-watt lead character.

Nashville (Fox, Fri., 9)
A “docu-soap” that targets too narrow an audience.

Bionic Woman (NBC, Wed., 9)
Cool special effects, but it’s a far cry from Heroes.

Cavemen (ABC, Tues.,9)
Bad makeup, bad jokes. These troglodytes should stick with doing Geico commercials.
