LIVESTRONG Bracelets

They are okay, but I find them annoying. I guess it's because everybody wears them now. The other day, I saw a boy who wore one on each ankle.

I think they are great because they help raise money for good causes! But, my Spanish teacher told me that if you go into a hospital with a yellow bracelet on your wrist, they can't treat you. It is some kind of sign-like if you have a disease that is going to kill you and it is very painful you can wear a yellow bracelet and if something happens to you, the docotors can't treat you. So, hospitals are having trouble because they have to make sure it is a livestrong bracelet before starting treatment!!!

Some hospitals have color-coded wristbands. A hospital in Florida, I think it was, has yellow wristbands that mean DNR, which means that they can't use "heroic measures" to save you if something happens.

I agree. A lot of people in my school just wear them because they're "trendy." At least their money's going toward a good cause. I have one livestrong bracelet; I also got a green one that supports Sudan- the money raised from the bracelets go toward building wells in Sudan so they have water. It's a really good cause and the people in charge have had tremendous success.

Yep, that's why my sister wears one. I've seen they have ones for Breast Cancer now. That's fine, I donated but I told them to keep the bracelet.

I might, I'm not sure yet. If I saw one in a store I would probably buy one.

They don't sell them in stores anymore, however you could order them of laf.org which is the Lance Armstrong Foundation website and also I believe you can buy them on oprah.com and discovery.com. Watch out for fakes though, I bough a couple colored ones at a jewlery stand at the mall and they proved to be fake so thats why its better to order on the websites.

Anyway, I don't wear them because they're trendy. I wear them to support a good cause.
