I'm a casual fan. A flippin crazy one at it though. I don't really follow it, I just happen to see and hear stuff about it cuz my sister is hella obsessed with it. We don't even get the-N here. My sister just downloads the episodes. Or sometimes I'll watch it on OnDemand or catch an episode at my grandma's house. Then when the season sets come out on DVD, my sister buys them.

It’s 11 AM on a bright Tuesday morning. I faintly hear the doorbell ring as I’m soaking in my large, luxurious bathtub. Irritated and confused, I slip into a soft, terry cloth bathrobe, slide into my favorite slippers and slowly make my way to the door. I trip over my cat, say a few unladylike words, regain composer, and continue on my way.
When I finally get there, I open the door to see a small box waiting for me. I find this quite strange, for I normally don’t get gifts delivered to my home in Manhattan. They are usually sent to my record company or my P.O. Box. I find it even stranger (maybe frightening is the word here) that it doesn’t have a return address. Anyway, I take the fragile looking box to my mantle, place it beside my Grammy, and head back to the bathroom to continue my bath that I was so rudely interrupted from.
Thirty minutes later, I emerge from the bathroom, feeling clean and fresh, ready to open the plainly wrapped box. It is only wrapped in cheap, brown packaging paper and is very light. I slowly pull the paper back. God only knows what is in this box. By now, I have the paper off; half the battle is won. I now try to open the heavily taped cardboard box. I have to use a knife, but I manage to get it open
When I open the box, I am almost blinded by the sparkly contents that lay inside. Inside this box are piano strings, however, these are no ordinary piano strings. They are golden and diamond incrusted. They look as if they were meant for the king of all pianos, so to speak.
I let out a gasp and rush to my white, grand piano to change the strings. After cutting my fingers and almost hitting myself in the eye, I manage to replace the simple strings with the luminous ones. I begin to play.
“Kinderszenen (Scenes from Childhood) No. 7 Träumerei” by Robert Schumann has never sounded so sweet to me. I do nothing but play for 12 hours. The sound fills my large home like water in the lungs of a drowning person. Never in my life have I hear sound this good from just a piano. I pinched myself. “Could I be dreaming?” I asked myself.
The inspiration for my second album had come to me. The genius lyrics poured out of my mouth like vomit and the accompaniment soon followed. I couldn’t stop playing. I hadn’t written anything like this in quite some time. For the past year and a half I have suffered from severe writer’s block. I didn’t think I would ever see a ray of light again, thanks to this black cloud of blockage hanging over me.
Suddenly, a wave of overwhelming emotion came over me. Feelings I had suppressed for years flashed before my eyes and I began to weep. Sadness, loneliness, anger, and regret from my childhood flooded my mind for a few brief minutes that felt like years.
I quickly began to realize that these strings were magical. Call me naïve, but it’s the only explanation. To this day, I have never heard such beautiful sound from a piano.
Later that night, around Midnight, I said my prayers and thanked God for giving me these magical strings. Then, I slid under the covers of my king sized bed feeling renewed and inspired. In this one day, I have grown not only as an artist, but as a person, too.
I drifted off to sleep that night feeling, dare I say it, happy.
That's pretty good
