Dang... didn't realize all those celebrites were so short! I'm 5'9" and I'm only 15 1/2. My dad is 6'4", so I expect to be tall as well. As long as I am not fat, I will be fine(which right now, I'm skinny), of course, so was my dad when he was a teenager. Not now. LOL

Me too. I was always the tallest girl growing up (I was 5'2 in the 5th grade) but by 8th grade I was 5'4 and stopped growing. That is so weird! I've never heard of that before, very interesting. I'm 5'1" and I really don't see what the big deal with height is. I really don't care, it's annoying when people confuse me as a child though. But other than that, I don't mind. Actually, I do...

I read an article about this procedure in a magazine a few months ago.
Basically, they break your shinbones and install these braces on your legs that create a small space between the broken bones where new bone matter grows. Then every few days the patient makes a slight adjustment in the braces to increase the space.

The process takes several months, and the patient is in constant mind numbing pain.

Sounds like a great way to grow an extra inch.

I once saw a program on TV about a dwarf who had that surgery done. I think what they did was break his leg bones and then separated the two pieces with pins then new bone grew into the empty space making him a few inches taller. So yes It just made his legs longer. He only had it done to make it easier to reach things and function in a world designed for average sized people.
