That's cool. I didn't know they could do that. Does it make your whole body look longer and taller, or just your legs? If it made your whole body look longer and wasn't so painful/expensive...I'd have it done too. I'm only 5'1.

There's nothing wrong with being short! I can't believe this attitude. Look, at 5'1" you're still taller than Dolly Parton

I was always the shortest kid in my class, and it bugged me then, but honestly, I came to realize that nobody really cares. If you want to be taller, where high-heels

I dont mind being short that much, but a lot of tall girls are built really slim and I'd love to be like that. And, I'm not graceful enough to wear high heels...

Dang... didn't realize all those celebrites were so short! I'm 5'9" and I'm only 15 1/2. My dad is 6'4", so I expect to be tall as well. As long as I am not fat, I will be fine(which right now, I'm skinny), of course, so was my dad when he was a teenager. Not now. LOL

Me too. I was always the tallest girl growing up (I was 5'2 in the 5th grade) but by 8th grade I was 5'4 and stopped growing. I've always wanted to be 5'6 but I like my height now because if I wear anything with heels I'm at a height that I like and people always tell me that I look taller than I am.

That is so weird! I've never heard of that before, very interesting. I'm 5'1" and I really don't see what the big deal with height is. I really don't care, it's annoying when people confuse me as a child though. But other than that, I don't mind. Actually, I do...

"Would you like the children's menu?" I swear I was asked that before at a restaurant, I'm 17 BTW. But anyways, I do find that interesting. I had no idea there was a such surgery as that, kinda weird.

People put too much emphasis on height. Short is cute.

I read an article about this procedure in a magazine a few months ago.
Basically, they break your shinbones and install these braces on your legs that create a small space between the broken bones where new bone matter grows. Then every few days the patient makes a slight adjustment in the braces to increase the space.

The process takes several months, and the patient is in constant mind numbing pain.

Sounds like a great way to grow an extra inch.

I once saw a program on TV about a dwarf who had that surgery done. I think what they did was break his leg bones and then separated the two pieces with pins then new bone grew into the empty space making him a few inches taller. So yes It just made his legs longer. He only had it done to make it easier to reach things and function in a world designed for average sized people.

I'm sure that being short is harder for a man. Too bad we all can't be perfect like you Solomon! And I have learned in life to "Never say never" . You will learn that too when you grow up!
