Exactly. But Christina does have what it takes to make her a classic, she just hasn't proven herself yet... the respect and quality of Stripped is just an indication of whats to come.

Ok, I can see where you're coming from, however Genie in A Bottle hardly can be considered a classic compared to Madonna's stuff. But I can agree that if her stuff is of the same or higher quality as Stripped then she might have the potential. The songs on GIAB compared to a whole grouping of favorite "classic" songs can't even begin to be compared.

people who have old cars that don't have a cd player in them?

It's kinda funny to see people bashing cassettes, in the 80's and early 90's, they were all the rage

what is so wrong with cassettes? I stopped buying them around 1993 (the early part of the year, because by mid-late 93, I was buying cd's only), but I am not going to deny that they were a big part of my childhood. Just like Janice, I owned a "Bad" cassette as a kid, as did I also have Thriller and Dangerous on tape.

They are pretty useless by todays standards (they don't last long, try putting in a 20 year old cassette and see if it even still plays, and if it does, it doesn't sound great) but they did serve their purpose and todays kids who grew up with cd being the norm obviously don't remember a time when the only people buying cd's were yuppies and most "normal" people were into tapes and vinyl.

The wear factor and the fact that they don't sound nearly as good as records or CDs.

I'm college-aged and starting my third year of college... Not ashamed to say I love Britney, Christina, BSB, *NSYNC, Clay, Kelly... I just love pop music in general. What's cool anyway? Following what other people like? Not me... I only will like what I wanna like.

I would have bought your Christina tape. I need to get a CD adapter for my car, so I can only play tapes right now... and I'm not liking radio these days. Getting tired of the same old rap they're playing.
