I just found that whole segment scary for the following reasons: (1) It was an earlier segment, and the film they used back then had that misty quality that the earlier segments had. I'm sure you all know what I mean. (2) Robert Stack used his quiet, monotonous way of speaking which can give me the creeps. (3) For whatever reason, when they showed her undergoing hypnosis it was scary to me. (4) As UMFan77 said, when Rudolph visited Jenkins' grandmother's grave and saw the angel on the tomb that she'd been seeing in her visions...scary. (5) And, of course, the music! They used this depressing-yet-scary-sounding music which stayed in my head for several hours.

I don't normally care for those supernatural mysteries either, but I like that story because it was creepy. That's half the reason I watch the show anyway.

I remembered another segment they've shown way too many times for my taste. It was the one about "Missing Time." Remember that? These people were missing hours out of their day they couldn't account for. Most of them believed they'd been abducted by aliens. That was another two-segment case. Two segments too long in my opinion.
You're right...the earlier segments must of been filmed differently because they are misty looking, the color isn't too sharp or bright. Also, Robert Stack's voice is, as you said, at a low, monotone. The newer segments from, like 2000-2002, are more bright and cheery.

Yes, Georgia's voice. It was so low, monotone and tragic-sounding. Very creepy.

Yeah, I knew it was from the first or second season becuase of the camera fuzziness.

The Missing Time case is special to me because it was the first UM UFO segment I ever saw. The lights outside Dutra's Market moving closer scared the **** out of me when I was 7!

The one that annoys the hell out of me, and it seems like Lifetime has shown it 5000 times, is where the Asian guy finds the gold Buddha filled with diamonds and then it is stolen from him by the Marcos regime.

Here are my picks:

The Edward Harold Bell case. This was mentioned on here before (Bell exposed himself to kids on neighborhood street, and gunned down a heroic man who tried to stop him). I admit this is tragic and very sad, but this case was resolved years ago. Lifetime even re-worked it into part of their "new" series. I change channels if I see this is on.

But that segment is great! Yeah, i know, i've seen it a thousand times, but notice the actor playing the "heroic" victim. It's none other than Matthew McConnaughey:-)
