Default Let's cool off here ~LOL

All opions are welcome on this board, so don't beat a guy/gal up for his/her preferences. More variety and options on the cable channels would be nice, so we don't always get the same ones over and over.

I like some on each of the lists, but I don't watch many shows on cable until summer when reruns dominate the big three or four networks. It depends on when you grew up, as to which decade of shows you like best. I love anything 1950s or early 1960s, but I've enjoyed some 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s sitcoms too.

Next season, "Friends" and "Frasier" will be in reruns ALL the time too.

All you people wanna see is Friends, The Cosby Show, Cheers, Fraiser, Full House, Roseanne, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Growing Pains, Who's The Boss?, Seinfeld, The Drew Carey Show, Home Improvement, Will & Grace, That 70s Show, The King & Queens, Becker, Cybill, Married With Children, A Different World, Lizzie McGuire, Saved By The Bell, Mama's Family, & all the 50s, 60s, 70s & other shows that are still airing over & over again. I couldn't agree with you more Green.

There's a difference between not liking overrated shows and telling people who do like them that they make you sick.

GREENLASER is the one who needs to respect opinions.

who knew the time would come when people would be "punk" about tv shows like music.

I like shows that might be viewed as overrated (Roseanne, Seinfeld, Cosby, Sex And The City, Golden Girls), shows that are underrated (Roswell, Popular, Gimme A Break, 227) and even a number of shows that aren't well known enough about to be rated either way (VR.5, Life With Roger, Double Trouble, Haunted). Taste, be it movies, music, television, literature, whatever, should be what personally appeals to you, not "this is popular, so I have to hate it to look cool"

All the shows I like seem to be the ones that are the most underrated.

I'm talking to everyone who is defending greenlaser for saying that people make him sick because of their choice in TV. If you're defending him, then yes, I'm talking right to you.

Voyagers! was one of my favorites.. sure don't hear anyone talking about it much, if ever. Then again, it didn't last very long anyway.
I loved Voyagers, most people don't even know about that show. It was very entertaining and fun. It probably would have had a long run, if the lead actor did not die with the freak gun accident on the set. For those who don't know the story, they had a prop gun that shot blanks. The lead actor took the prop gun, put it to his temple, and pulled the trigger. The force of the blank killed him. What a shame, he was young.

I agree with some of the sentiment of the original poster. There are some shows that get replayed to death, and other older shows that never see the day of light. But it all comes down to money. How much money can a station make playing Friends, how much will the advertising people pay, compared to Mr Belvidere? I like what TVland has done, bringing back retro commercials, they have a good plan to lure advertising money to older shows. Lets all just hope enough people watch, so we can get the shows we want on tv.

one of my friends who has a few years on me (I was three when Voyagers came and went, and was five when Jon-Erik Hexum died) was talking about that show and I thought she was talking about Star Trek for the longest time

If you're gonna list all those sitcoms then why not ask why we don't like unpopular and underated sitcoms, like you, ?

I do like allot on that list, and not all are overated.

I think you make some interesting points here. I am sick of hearing about how great shows like The Cosby Show, Roseanne, Frasier and Friends are when I could care less about these shows.

However, I think that you'll find people with a wide range of taste around here. There are plenty of people around here who are into the same shows that you are.
