CD was now six months pregnant...today was the day she was going to find out the sex of the baby...she was actually starting to get excited about being a mom...she still had not told Nate he was the baby's daddy though...things were going good between
the two of them and things were almost back to the way they were before they got together...

at the station, Raina was taking bets on what everyone thought the baby was going to be...
Raina:"ok...Nate how much do you wanna bet?"
Nate:"ten bucks on it being a boy..."
Jinny:"ok what if they cannot tell what the baby is today...?"
Raina:"then we will just have to wait till it is born..."
Magda:"well I want to put ten bucks also on it being a boy..."
Raina:"ok...how about you Jinny?"
Jinny:"since everyone else is SO convinced it is a boy, Im gonna put ten on it being a girl..."
Kate walked out of her office...
Raina:"ooh captain, you wanna get in on this?"
Kate:"sure...I guess since Jinny is the only one who bet on a girl, I will too..."
Raina:"ok..."

Jinny decided she would finally tell Magda about her and Teddy...things were going well between them now and she felt confident their relationship might be going some where...
Jinny:"Magda?"
Magda:"hmm?"
Jinny:"the person I have been seeing is Teddy..."
of course when Magda and Jinny were having a conversation, Raina was autmatically in it too..both Magda and Raina had a "duh we knew that" look on their face...
Magda:"I know it is Teddy..."
Raina(smiling real big):"yeah me too!"
Jinny:"how do you two know??...I have not told anyone..."
Magda:"we have knew for a couple months now actually..."
Raina:"yeah did you think you were gonna keep something like that from US?"
Jinny:"well yeah I did..."
Magda:"why didn't you want us to know..?"
Jinny:"well it was nothing at first but then I wanted to see how things were gonna turn out before I started telling people..."
Magda:"Jinny Im so happy for you!"
Raina:"yeah me too!"
Jinny:"so since everyone knows now, Im gonna go have lunch with Teddy!"
Raina:"hey ask him if he wants in on the bet..."
Jinny(laughing):"ok I will..."

CD walked into the bull pin...she was smiling ear-to-ear....Raina jumped up when she saw her...
Raina:"what is it, what is it?"
CD:"a little exctited?"
Magda:"she has bet going..."
CD:"hmm..then Im not telling what it is..."
CD went and sat at her desk...
Raina:"you better tell us!..."
CD:"nuh uh..."
Nate:" hey now you can tell ME?!"
CD:"ok ok I will tell you what it is.."
Raina:"wait, let me bet first...ok I say...boy...ok now what is it!"
CD pulls out a picture from the sonogram..
CD:"it is a girl!"
Nate:"what?!...no way!"
Magda:"yeah I was sure it was a boy...."
CD:"nope it is a girl...see..(shows them the picture)"
Raina(mad):"Magda your doctor friend does not know what he is talking about!"
CD:"what?... you two cheated?!"
Magda:"well I asked a doctor friend of mine what he thought it might be and he said a boy...."
Nate:"well guess a girl won't be so bad...lets just hope she does not turn out like CD here.."
CD:"shut up @sshole..."
Nate:"two dollar hooker!"
CD:"anal astronaut!"
Magda and Raina busted out laughing...
Nate:"ok that one was pretty good..."
CD:"thank you..."
Raina:"well I guess I better go give captain her $25 she won..."

CD, Nate, Raina, and Magda were all having lunch together at anchorside...Jinny and Teddy were sitting at a little table together...holding hands and kissing....
Raina(looking over at Jinny and Teddy):"I just don't get it...I mean look at them two..."
Magda:"I know...Jinny is always so happy and gitty...it is starting to creep me out..."
CD:"I know what you mean...last week Jinny asked me to proof read a poem she wrote for Teddy, for his birthday..."
Nate:"Jinny writting poetry?...that is wierd..."
Raina:"hey I like Jinny's new attitude...she has not threatened to shove me in the storage closet in a month...she usual does twice a day..."
Nate:"well I am happy for them...at least SOMEBODY out there
is having great sex..."

Jinny and Teddy were having a conversation in between their kisses....
Jinny:"so what do you want to do tonight..."
Teddy:"I think you know the answer"
Jinny:"I mean besides THAT!"
Teddy:"oh I don't know...we could order out and watch a couple DVD's"
Jinny:"sounds good..."

Everyone returned back to the division...Jinny and Magda left to work on a case...Raina was helping CD and Nate with another case...
Raina:"I just got a call from ballistics...Donson's fingerprints were all over the gun..."
Nate:"let's go get him.."
CD and Nate walk out of the bull pin...Raina passes captain on the way to her desk..
Raina:"ooooh captain I love that blouse...it brings out your eyes..."
Kate:"thanks Raina...I like those boots your wearing.."
Raina:"really?...I got them on sale!"

Nate and CD were driving in the car...
Nate:"are you feeling ok today???"
CD:"yeah Im just tired...not to mention I am huge...my back hurts..my feet hurt..."
Nate:"so exactly how far along are you now?"
CD:"Im pushing seven months..."
Nate:"seven months??...I thought you were only like four or five months?"
CD:"nope..almost seven..."
Nate:"no wonder you are so big..."
CD:"Hey!"
Nate:"you know what I mean....so have you came up with a name?"
CD:"no...I have not even thought about it..."
Nate:"how about Candace jr?"
CD:"yeah right...I don't even like that name for myself...why would I name my kid that?"
Nate:"I don't know...just a suggestion..."

Raina:"ok caption I finally got a date for CD's baby shower..."
Kate:"when?"
Raina:"the 15th of next month...."
Kate:"I'll mark it on my calender.."
Raina:"now don't tell CD..."
Kate:"Raina I can keep a secret...you are the one around here who seems to have a problem with that..."
Raina:"I know caption...Im really trying to work on that..."
Kate:"very good"
Raina:"so caption...do you think I should invite CD's mom?...she told me they don't speak but I was not sure if I should invite her..."
Kate:"hmm...Im not even sure if CD has even told her she is pregnant...let me talk to CD.."
Raina:"do you think you can get the info without spilling the beans??"

Raina:"so..did you talk to CD about her mom?"
Kate:"yeah....CD hasn't even told her so I don't think you should invite her..."
Raina:"well thats too bad...."

Raina:"yeah...so anyway...the shower is THIS Saturday...have you gotten CD a gift yet?"
Kate:"calm down...I know it is this Saturday and yes I got her a gift..."
Raina:"ok just making sure...I want CD to have the best baby shower ever!"
Kate:"Im sure she will..."

Friday before the shower, Raina gathered everyone to tell them the plans while CD and Nate were off working on a case...
Raina:"ok here is what is going to happen...we are all going to meet up at Anchorside tomorrow at 7pm...Nate is going to get CD to have dinner with him...he is going to bring her to anchorside and we are going to suprise her!"
Jinny:"good...that leaves me enough time tomorrow and go get her a gift.."
Raina:"WHAT??...you haven't gotten her a gift yet??"
Jinny:"chill out...I have been busy...don't worry it will be a nice gift"
Raina:"ok it better...how about you Mag?"
Magda:"I got her a couple things...Im gonna go with Jinny tomorrow and help her pick out a gift"
Raina:"oh thank goodness..."
Jinny:"what is that supposed to mean???!!?"
Raina:"well it is just that Magda has had a baby and she would know what to buy..."
Jinny:"hey now I have bought plenty of gifts for friends who were
having babies..."
Raina:"ok ok Im sorry...just don't buy the baby anything black..."

The next day Jinny and Magda were and Babys R us.....
Magda:"aww now this is cute..."
Jinny:"yeah I guess...I like that pink one better..."
Magda:"doesn't all this stuff give you baby fever!"
Jinny:"not really..."
Magda:"oh come on Jin...don't you want a baby before it is too late..."
Jinny:"yeah right...I can really see me with a kid..."
Magda:"that just might be what you need..."
Jinny:"well if I was to have a kid, I would want it to have a father and I can't seem to keep a man around..."
Magda:"you have Teddy!"
Jinny:"yeah but things are going way too good with him...Im just waiting for it all to fall apart..."
Magda:"Jinny you are way to hard on yourself...Teddy obviously loves you..."
Jinny:"I know...I don't know what Im saying..."
Magda:"well I know one thing...all these little dresses are making me want to have another baby..."
Jinny:"you mean you want a baby after that little scare last year?"
Magda:"well yeah I want one with Gabe..."
Jinny:"so things are ok between you two?"
Magda:"yeah...and I hate it because I can't get the guilt to go away...I now realize I do love Gabe and Jonah was just a stupid mistake.."
Jinny:"maybe you should tell Gabe..."
Magda:"I know...Im not scared of him leaving me, Im just scared of breaking his heart..."
Jinny picked up a little dress that was light pink and it had little matching socks and a hat...
Jinny:"ok this is deffinatly the one..."
Magda:"see you are so good at this..."
Jinny just rolled her eyes and kept looking at the baby
clothes...they bought a few more things and then left the store...

Raina was, of course, the first person to arrive at Anchorside for the shower...she talked to a waiter about what everyone was supposed to be having and everything else...Kate arrived with the cake...
Raina:"oh thank God your here.."
Kate:"Raina it is still early!"
Raina:"I know..I just wanted you to get the cake here..."
Raina takes the cake from Kate and sits it on the table...then she opens the box to see what the cake looks like...It is pink and with white flowers..and it says "its a girl!"...
Raina:"oh Captain this cake is beautiful!"
Kate:"well you picked it out...didn't you know that is what it was going to look like..."
Raina:"yeah but it looks even better than I imagined!"
a couple more people started showing up to the shower...people from work...friends of CD's....

meanwhile, Nate had forgotten to call CD the night before to ask her to go to dinner with him so he hoped she did not already have plans, and ruin the suprise baby shower...Nate went over to CD's...he knocked on the door...CD answered...
CD:"Hey..."
Nate:"Hey...what are you up to?"
CD:"oh I was just getting ready to go shopping..."
Nate:"oh well I was hoping maybe you would want to come to dinner with me..."
CD:"I would love to but I really need to go shopping..."
Nate:"well can't that wait?"
CD:"no not really...I need to go now, while I have some free time..."
Nate:"how about I go with you...we can eat first and then go shopping.."
CD(confused):"Nate you want to go shopping???"
Nate:"uhh yeah...I have some things I need to get also...."

Everyone had finally arrived for the shower...Raina was going crazy wondering where Nate was...

CD:"ok fine, you can come with me...but lets eat quick ok?"
Nate:"ok..lets go to Anchorside..."
CD:"why Anchorside?...why don't we just get something at the food court?"
Nate:"they have a great special tonight..."
CD:"but Nate that will take forever...everything will be closed by the time we get finished eating..."
Nate:"It will not take us that long...come on lets go..."
CD still argued with Nate on the way to Anchoride....

Raina was flipping out...she could not call Nate's cell because CD would get suspicious...
Jinny:"Raina would you chill out!?...they will be here!"
Magda:"yeah they are only 20 minutes late..."
Raina:"I know...I just do not like to fall back on schedule..."

Nate and CD arrived at Anchorside....they both got out of the car and were walking in...
CD:"Nate I swear, if the everything is closed when we leave here, I am going to punch you..."
Nate:"ok you can punch me!"
they walked in and everyone was sitting a big table...there were balloons and gifts everywhere....everyone yelled "SUPRISE!" when CD and Nate approach the table...
CD:"Oh my God!...what are you guys doing?"
Jinny:"duh, we're giving you a babyshowerd..."
Magda:"actually we just helped...this was all Raina's idea...she did everything..."
CD hugged Raina..
CD:"thank you so much Raina!"
Raina:"no problem...you know how much I love this stuff!"
CD:"yeah I do..."
Raina(jokingly):"so you are gonna make me the God-mother, right?"
CD(laughing):"we'll see..."
Kate:"so come on, sit down!..."
Nate and CD sat down with everyone else...everyone ordered their food and were in
conversation with each other...
Raina:"so what took you so long to get here?"
Nate:"CD here was giving me a hard time..."
CD:"well I had other plans....if you would have told me about the shower then I would not have given you a hard time!"
Nate:"well if I would have told you, it would not have been a suprise..."

Everyone were now finished eating....
Raina:"ok it is time to open the gifts..."
Magda brought over some gifts and placed them in front of CD....
CD:"which one do I open first?"
Jinny:"open this one....I know you'll love it..."
CD opened Jinny's gift...it was the little pink dress....
CD:"aww Jinny this is beautiful...did you pick it out?"
Jinny:"yes I did, thank you!"
next Kate wanted CD to see what she got her so she went out to her car and got it...a few minutes later, Kate came rolling in with a white bassinette...Jinny, Magda, and Raina all went "Awwwww" at the same time...
Kate:"I hope you like it...Amanda had one just like this when she was a baby..."
CD:"Caption this is just wonderful!...thank you SO much..."
CD got up and hugged Kate...
Nate:"ok all of these are from me..."
Nate had about eight gifts in his arms....
CD laughed...
CD:"do you think you got enough..."
Nate:"I couldn't help it...all that baby stuff was so cute...I could not make up my mind..."
Magda:"you mean you went shopping for baby stuff?"
Nate:"well yeah...I mean normally I get my mom to do stuff like this for me but it is not
every day my partner has a baby....I wanted to pick out the gifts myself!"
Raina:"aww that is so sweet Nate"
CD smiled at Nate...
CD:"yeah that is Nate...thank you so much...and thank God it is not everyday your partner
has a baby...I could not handle that!"
CD opened alot more gifts....everyone eat cake....it was pretty late so everyone was starting to leave for home...Magda and Jinny stayed behind with Raina to help her clean up...

Nate carried CD home, along with a car-full of baby stuff...clothes,toys, diapers...you name it...CD went in her appartment and Nate made trips back and forth to the car untill he had all the gifts inside....
Nate:"uhh is all this stuff just going to stay in the living room?"
CD:"I guess so...I have no where else for it..."
Nate:"CD where is your baby going to sleep?...you need a nursery..."
CD:"I know...I am looking for another appartment..."
Nate:"Well I will help you look....and I will help you with the nursery too, ok?"
CD:"Thank you Nate..."
Nate:"your welcome..."

A few weeks passed...CD was getting close to her due date, so Kate made her go ahead and take her maternity leave...she finally found a new appartment...it was small but it had two
bedrooms....Nate and CD were getting the room ready for the baby....Nate was trying to put the crib together...CD was sitting in a rocking chair eating ice cream...laughing at Nate...
Nate:"whats so funny?"
CD:"you and that crib....you are never gonna get it togther..."
Nate:"yes I am...you just gotta give me some time..."
CD:"I have been watching you try to put it together for an hour..."
Nate:"well why don't you get up and help me!"
CD:"becuase Im almost 8 1/2 months pregnant!....how about I call someone who will know what they are doing?..."
Nate:"no I am almost done..."
CD:"well you better do it right...I don't want to put my baby in there and it fall apart..."
Nate:"It won't...."
CD picked up a baby names book from beside the rocking chair...
CD:"I have no idea what to name her...."
Nate:"well let me help you...I need a break from this crib anyway..."
Nate and CD left the babies room and went and sat on the couch...
Nate:"ok lets see...what names do you like?"
CD:"I really don't know....I like Hannah..Michelle...Amy.."
Nate:"well I like Hannah too...I once dated a girl named Michelle..and Amy..."
CD:"I like it too but I don't know...what if she hates it when she is older?..."
Nate:"let me ask her...."
Nate put his head on CD's belly...
Nate:"ok baby...do you want your Mommy to name you "Hannah"?
......hey she moved!"
CD:"Nate she moves all the time..."
Nate:"well I think she likes it..."
CD:"ok Hannah it is....what about a middle name?....
Nate looked through the baby book a few times....
Nate:"I like "Grace"...that was my Grandmothers name..."
CD:"I like that too Nate....Hannah Grace...that is pretty..."
Nate:"yeah it is...I bet she will be pretty too..."

CD knew she needed to tell Nate he was the father...she had let too much time pass and she wanted him to know...she decided now was probably the best time to tell him...
CD:"uhh Nate...there is something I need to tell you.."
Nate:"what is it???"
CD paused for a few minutes...
Nate:"well are you going to tell me?"
CD:"you are Hannah's Father..."
Nate:"WHAT?...how can that be?"
CD:"Nate you are the only person I have been with...I can't believe you never even thought it could be yours..."
Nate:"of course I thought of the possibility it was mine!...why didn't you tell me CD??"
CD:"I was so scared...I mean things were so screwed up between us and I just don't want to loose you as a partner...you know if Kate found out about this..."
Nate:"CD screw our partnership...I want us to stay partners too but I think a BABY is more important than that...I can't believe you kept this from me..."
Nate was really angry now...He grabbed his jacket and left....CD just put her head in her hands...she expected Nate to be mad, just not that mad...

Nate went home....he just sat on his couch thinking about what CD just told him...He was so mad...yet he was really happy too...he always wanted to be a father...a father of CD's child but he thought that would never happen..and now it had...

CD woke up in the middle of the night from a sharp pain....she got up...she did not want to jump to conclusions so she just stayed up and waited to see if the pain went away...
about an hour later the pain got worse and she knew she was in labor...she called Nate..Nate heard the phone ring...he picked it up even though he was still half asleep...
Nate:"hello?"
CD:"Nates its me...I know you are mad at me but I am in labor and I did not know who else to call..."
that quickly woke Nate completely up...
Nate:"ok I will be right there..."
Nate jumped out of bed...threw some clothes on and raced over to CD's...CD was waiting for him...she quickly got into the car...
CD:"I can't believe this is happening...this is too soon"
CD started to cry...
CD:"her room isn't even finished... and I don't think I am ready to be a mother..."
Nate:"CD it's ok...she is only a couple weeks early...and you are gonna be a great mother.."
They arrived to the hospital...Nate called Kate, Jinny, Magda, and Raina...Raina came as soon as Nate called...CD promised her she could be in the delivery room...Kate came a few hours later...then Jinny and Magda came...CD was having a long labor so everyone
just sat around talking...
Kate:"CD you are so calm..."
CD:"Im in alot of pain though...."

12pm rolled around so everyone left to get some lunch except Nate....
CD:"Nate do you think I should call my mother?...I don't want to see her but I want her to know she is going to be a Grandmother..."
Nate:"it is up to you...but I think she would want to know...I called my parents earlier...they are so happy...very suprised..but happy..."
CD asked Nate if she could be alone while she called her mother...
CD:"Hey Mom...it is me.."
Polly:"Candace!....how are you?..."
CD:"well I am in labor at the moment..."
Polly:"What???"
CD:"Im having a baby...you are going to be a Grandmother..."
Polly:"are you serious?...what about your tubes?"
CD:"yes I am serious...and apparently you can get pregnant if your tubes are tied..."
Polly:"well I am getting on the next plane to San Fransisco..."
CD:"No I don't want you to come...I just thought you should know..."
Polly:"well I am coming...I want to see my Grandchild!"
CD argued with her mom but she could not talk her out of coming...Polly was on her way...

later that evening the CD was getting closer to delivery....
CD:"oh this hurts so bad...."
Kate:"I know honey...just hang in there..."
CD:"I changed my mind...I can't do this..."
nurse:"oh there is no turning back now...this baby is coming..."
CD:"I wish she would hurry up!"
It was time for CD to start pushing so Jinny and Magda went out in the wating room..Nate, Kate, and Raina stayed to watch the baby be born....Raina looked down and saw the baby's head...
Raina:"CD!...Your baby has a head!"
Nate looked down too...the sight scared him so he just stayed by CD and held her hand...
Raina:"I gotta go tell Magda and Jinny..."
Raina stuck her head out the delivery room door and Yelled
toward the waiting room "CD'S BABY HAS A HEAD!!!!"
by now Polly was there and she was sitting with Magda and Jinny in the waiting room...they heard Raina yell...
Jinny:"Alright!!...It has a head!!!!"

Finally Hannah was born...at 9pm that night....Nate cut the cord and handed her to CD...all CD's fears went away....the nurses got Hannah all cleaned up and were moving CD to a
room...Nate took Hannah out to the waiting room so everyone else could see her...Nate handed her to Polly...
Nate:"here is your Granddaughter..."
Polly:"Oh she is just beautiful!"
Magda:"yes she is..."
Jinny(joking):"she looks like you Nate!"
Everyone went to CD's room to see how the new mom was doing....
