"oh mi godddd RENT's a mooovie! lyke 525600 minuuuuuuutes!" No.

To be a Broadway Freak, you must live, eat, sleep, study, devout, think, obsess, dream, believe Broadway.
You must know original & revival casts, soundtracks, performance runs, dates, theatres, numbers, how many Tony Awards A Chorus Line won.
You must be Broadway.
That's right bitches. I AM Broadway.

We heard you the first time, dear.

As for your daughter Kitt, that's great news! Has she studied Flamenco before? (She probably has, but I'm stupid enough to ask.) I'm hoping to do a year abroad in Spain once I get to college. I just love the culture and the location, and I already know the language, although I've heard that Castillian has many differences than our anglosized Spanish.

Yes, she's been dancing Flamenco for four years or so. She's what I'll call a top flight student of Flamenco. As part of her colledge work she has spent over a year and half in Mexico. She has earned a BA in Latin American Studies and International Development. She was awarded a fellowship and is currently earning her Masters.

She speaks Spanish, and has told me that the accents in Spain are different than in Mexico. She had taken flamenco classes here in America with one of the instructors that she'll be seeing in Spain. That instructor lives in Spain and my daughter said that her accent makes it difficult for her to understand her sometimes. The Spaniards speak very fast which causes one to need to pay close attention in order to follow, lol.

Thanks for asking, and thanks to everyone for sharing in my enthusiasm.

Oh yea, we had a foreign exchange student this year from Spain, and he talked a mile a minute. The biggest pronunciation change I noticed was the 'c' sound. In Castillian, it's a 'th' sound. So instead of pronouncing it 'decir' or 'cinco', in Spain, you'd say 'dethir' and 'thinco'. Not really too hard, but it was odd getting used to it at first.
