I doubt they'll let you return it , especially if there is nothing wrong with it or it's been opened. It's not like they can sell it again if you've already tried it. I've never been to Macys but isn't there something else you could have bought with $35? Something that you could have really used? 35 bucks is way too much for 2 lip glosses.

Well, it's technically not expensive because of Macy's--it's because of the designer. Lancome is really expensive. But I'm sure you're right anyways about Macys--most likely all the cosmetics they carry are expensive, so there is probably no reason to look for anything else.

I don't think they'll let you return it. Like Mijada said, if there is nothing wrong with it you'll probably have no luck. And this isn't the kind of product you can say is faulty somehow. At least I can't think of an good excuse you could tell them to say the lip gloss doesn't work right. Besides, if you could think of a reason, Macy's would just replace them, not give you money back. What a bummer this is. Maybe you can get some use out of them.

LOL. I was just thinking, you COULD give it a shot and try to get a refund it you wanted. I'm trying to think like the optimistic people on here who said you should try.

I don't know Macy's policy--we don't have Macy's in WA. But I've seen Nordstrom take things back from people even when they shouldn't have. The best excuse I could come up with is that someone gave these lip glosses to you as a gift, and you tried them out and realized you didn't like them.

That's pretty lame, but it's the best I could come up with with! I just don't want to give up hope so easily. Lol. 35 dollars for two little make-up things that you don't want is such a waste!

Macy's and Filene's have a very liberal return policy. My friend is a manager at Filene's, and they tell their sales staff that they would rather lose the sale than lose the customer.
At the very least, you should be able to wrangle a merchandise credit from them. Maybe you can buy perfume or something you'd like more.
