Let's put it this way- 'Bring Me To Life' is onr of the worst songs on the album, yet the song is magnificent. The album itself is just bloody brilliant

Cool re: Evanescence

I haven't yet heard Evanescence, but I just read...they're a Christian band? I read some letters in the latest Entertainment Weekly saying that they played for some bigwigs in the Christian music industry. Gee, there may be some hope for Christian music yet.

Ughhhhhh they are NOT a Christian band! They started out as one, but they are not one now. I'd refuse to listen to a band that would fit on the same shelf as Jars of Clay and Steven Curtis Chapman!

That's good, I'd rather have bands be themselves than be "co-opted" by the Christian music industry falling all over themselves trying to prove how "hip" they are. There really is no musical growth or lyrical depth in the CMI, sad to say. It's just a bunch of kiddies trying to prove they're "better than the real thing" by making a pale imitation of what's all ready out there.

Speaking of Jars of Clay, I have a feeling they got their name from the Alice In Chains EP from 10 years ago, "Jar of Flies", which was all acoustic alternative, just like JOC was touted as being. Lifehouse, Chevelle, and P.O.D. have Christian members, but they're not "Christian bands", they're like U2.

If one of these "Christian Crossover" bands became the next big thing, like U2 did, the Christian industry would be the last to know.

yeah, it is kinda annoying at the end of 'bring me to life' when she screams "BREEEEEEEEEENG MEEEEEEEEEE TOOOOOOO LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIFE" at the end of the "IFE" it sounds like shes like dying or something. lol. yeah, that bugs me.

I have to disagree with you IownTheDivision69 - I really like the way Evenescence's singer delivers her vocals. In fact, my favourite part of the album is on the track 'Tourniquet' when she screams "I WANT TO DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIE!" at the top of her lungs. The emotion in her voice is simply captivating.

Ah.... my favorite part on the whole CD also. I swear, I will sit there and keep listening to that one part.
