I have and use a record player. In fact, for listening to music, I use it about 95% of the time. I only have about 5 cd's.
I have many albums, maybe 50% bought new and 50% bought used. Really too many to list all of them, most are '50s and early '60s music. Here's a few, to get a general idea: Ricky Nelson Connie Francis Platters New Christy Minstrels Flamingos Elvis Jan And Dean Johnny Mathis Beach Boys As for rarer ones, I have both the Disneyland "Haunted Mansion" and "Pirates Of The Carribean" LPs. Bought new. The first is from '69 and the second from '68. One of my cars ('71 Cadillac Fleetwood), was ordered with an 8-track. Was still in the car and still worked! It has since been replaced with an aftermarket radio (because the original radio stopped working). That factory radio weighed a lot. At least 8-10 lbs. |

My family still has an "OG" style kind.
![]() But recently we bought a new sorround system/stereo- and a new record player came with it. It's pretty cool. |

We have one but I don't think it works. We have about 50 - 75 records tho.

I Wonder do they make phonograph players anymore. I still have records. Mine are all before 1975. I do a lot of recording from the radio so my record buying is gone. The records are saved. Maybe they will be worth something someday. Never was into 8 tracks or cds but I am interested in recording on cds. Most of my recordings are on cassettes.

Checking to see if my scan of an old "top 30" list (Aug., 1977) can be read...
All right! It worked! The list below came out weekly from a local (now long gone) radio station (93 KHJ AM) out here. They printed a weekly Top 30 list from 1965 to 1980. The oldest I have is June, 1972. On the left side (LP's), "Rumours," in the #3 postition is on its 23rd week. The #24 slot, "Hotel California," has been on 33 weeks. On the right side (KHJ Thirty), "Dreams," in the #7 position, has been on for 17 weeks. |
