Thanks Stanley, for stopping by and setting everything straight! I'm so glad you are doing well now! Like Frani pointed out, we are all just huge fans of the show and all the characters and actors. Leave it to Beaver was just something completely magical and VERY enduring. Everyone's heart just broke when we read that article, and I'm SO happy that you turned things around. Congratulations, and a VERY Happy New Year!!!

Stanley

Thanks for your post and Congratulations on getting the gift of sobriety.
I too am a "Friend of Bill's"...

I hope you will post more regularly and fill us in on some the mysteries
of the show. i.e. What state is Mayfield in? Why does the door open
and close automatically when June comes out the house in the opening
credits with her hands full? Why does the street lampost only appears
at the new house on just a few episodes? Where is the beach they
can use a surfboard? Why do they dial 5 or 6 digits on the phone?

Any answers or theories would be appreciated by the fans of this
board. Thanks for participating.

I can sort of answer that one...it's actually not an unrealistic thing for phones to be dialed that way...

Many years ago (late 70s) I was visiting a friend of mine in Massachusetts...and, if you were making a local call to someone else within that town, you did not have to dial the full "exchange" (the "exchange" is the first three digits of a seven digit phone #)...you only had to dial a "2" (which was the 3rd digit in the exchange)...apparently, when you dialed a "2", followed by the last 4 digits of the phone #, the phone system knew that you were calling a local #, and it was able to connect you to the other party...

I believe this town (which shall remain nameless) had only one "exchange", the third digit of which was a "2"...so apparently, when you started dialing with a "2", and only dialed five digits, the phone system "knew" you were calling someone locally...

That's the only town I ever knew of that did that, but I'm sure that was done a lot in those days, especially in small towns...

P.S. Mr. Fafara, you were indeed AWESOME on Leave It To Beaver!!!! In my opinion, Leave It To Beaver had, by far, the most memorable child actors in the history of TV (not only with Wally & the Beaver as the lead characters, but all of their friends were great too...oh, and one other thing, Mr. Fafara... you had ME convinced that there really WAS soup in that billboard cup!!

Wow! Whitey? Is it really you? If so, it's so awesome that you came to the boards! Whitey was the cutest of beavers friends! So small, yet had a tremendous ability to get the beav into trouble! Next to June/Barbara, you were one of my favorites!

But if you read closely you will see my clean and sober date which is 8/22/95. I am happy, I am in fair to good condition all things considered. I love you guys! This is what I would call a lead in or a hook. My main goal is to help other people with the full story. Tom Hallman Jr. is the best jounalist in the country I believe. He has won a pulitzer prize also and is a wonderful and considerate man. I am acting again too, which is fun. Really fun.
Once again HAPPY NEW YEAR.
Are you Whitey? I'm confused!

Well, You sure still look like Whitey!

Default National Enquirer

HI EVERYBODY,

You guys and gals are great! I just wanted to post here because (not that I am selling papers or anything) the NE just did an article about me and believe it or not, it was GOOD! God has a sense of humor that's for sure.

I also want to post something from my book, but am a little reluctant because of rights. It's not because I don't trust this board but I just think it would be more powerful if I didn't do it right now but I will post something I have written that is very close to me. It's what happened to me spiritually out there I think.

Bear with it and enjoy. Please pray for the lost ones!

We were so happy in the beginning, knowing only innocence and love. You are my personal and eternal friend. Then, in your quest to be free, you turned away from my love and tried to pursue happiness alone. When your lust for comfort in the physical and material things of this world became more important to you than me, you unknowingly murdered the passion of your own soul...And I wept for you.
As you tried harder to regain what we had in the beginning by yourself the pain had begun. You struggled to be free yet the ropes that bound you became tighter and tighter...your pain was my pain..And again, I cried..As tears fell from my face they burned hot to my soul. You shivered in the cold darkness as your eyes became blinded by the scales from the years, yet you could not drop one tear. You were wounded, and as I wept I began to carry you. The last flicker of light within you had turned into a burning coal which was destroying your flesh. And I wept as my closest friend was dying. I held you tightly against my chest and waited painfully for you last breath..You were trembling and turned to me. Your eyes filled with tears and as one finally rolled down your face, you muttered the words I had been longing to hear for so many many years. You said, "God please help me." And as I held you tighter your uncontrollable tears of sorrow have become our everlasting tears of joy.
Welcome home Stan.

May God bless you and keep you until next time.

Stanley Fafara aka "Whitey"

(Beaver Trivia)

Jerry Mathers told a story at a book signing, about a detective search that was done to find Rusty Stevens who played Larry. The detective finally located the house where he lived. He went up to the front door inquiring about the child star. His wife responded by telling the individual that he had the wrong house. She went back in and told Rusty the story. Rusty said to his wife that the detective was correct in his assumption. Flabbergasted, his wife asked, Well, why didn't you ever tell me about this? Rusty told her, it never came up in the conversation

This has nothing to do with the topic at hand, but Mondello I read your sig and I've heard that story before about how they had to hire a detective to find Rusty. I just can't believe that Rusty could go by and not have anybody point him out and ask him if he was Larry Mondello. That's absolutely mind blowing. I'd like to see a pic of him now to see what he looks like.

That was a lovely and very moving piece that you wrote, Mr. Fafara. It proves that you are not only talented as an actor, but also as a writer. May your life be forever blessed.
