Nobody has mentioned Arachnophobia! I saw that when I was in 4th grade and I had an extreme fear of spiders for a long time after that. I wouldn't take a shower for weeks because I was afraid a poisinous spider would jump down and get me (there was a similar scene in the movie). I vowed never to watch that movie for as long as I lived but I have seen it several times since and it is not so bad now. This movie is not (emphasis on the not) recommended for any people who have a fear of spiders. If you even have a very small fear of spiders, stay away from this movie.

Alright I am not really afraid of any scary movies, but one that I really liked was Alien. I saw that one when I was 3 and I loved it, even back then. Also I enjoyed Hellraiser. My dad hates that movie with a passion. I think that is the one that scares him the most. Also I enjoy all of the classic ones too, such as, The Exorcist, Halloween, Carrie, and A Nightmare On Elm Street.

I take it your talking about the 2002 re-make that aired a couple weeks ago? Personally, nothing can compare to the 1976 smash. Brian DePalma is the best.

I have a love for the Nightmare On Elm Street movies and Halloween. Anyway, these are some of my faves:

A Nightmare On Elm Street 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 (didn't care for part 2)
Halloween 1-7 (didn't care too much for H20)
Friday the 13th (all of 'em)
Scream (all of 'em)

Anyone ever seen 'Killer Clowns From Outer Space?'
I saw this movie when I was little and it scared the crap out of me!

The Shining. I dunno if its the scariest, but it's the best one in my opinion.

The version with Jack Nicholson and Shelley Duvall or the version with
Steven Weber and Rebecca De Mornay?

Sad Not many

I haven't seen enough scary movies to be scared- mainly because I have bad expectations that all horror films are the scariest things ever- so i usually avoid them. However, not in the long term- but for a couple days I was real creeped out (the film finished at like 11pm!) and also after watching 'Signs' I was kinda creeped out to. Then again- I think I watch so few horror films is because I used to be scared easily- I remember I use to be afraid of Beetlejuice- though last night it was on TCM (TCM getting a bit modern now- I think the youngest film is Interview with the vampire) and I watched it all. However- I revently started watching a bit of horror- they keep showing the Japanese Ringu films on sci-fi- but it's on SO late! I supposed I'm trying to be brave.

OT: Has anyone seen the film 'Freaks'? I watched it a 10:45 on TCM last night- I can't see why the film was banned- but it's an amusing film though. I taped it- to think that for the past few weeks I've been meaning to buy it for Ł9 online when all I needed was a blank tape.

Sad also

I remember Arachnophobia now- used to scare the hell outta me- i haven't watched 'the shining' in full, but what i saw was real scary. I think what is the creepiest are those tv shows (I havent seen shock movie macabre yet- I heard it's good) that show the scariest bits from horror. Films like silence of the lambs don't have one scary bit, it's built up over the whole film- I like the whole trilogy (I saw Manhunter (mostly) before Red Dragon- it's ok)- and my cousins , which sometimes have a weird taste in films at 6 years old- some of them always wanna watch Hannibal.

"Arachnophobia" is more funny than scary, especially John Goodman's brilliant performance as the exterminator.
