Sadly, "Kate & Allie" pulled this twice. The first time, one of Kate and Allie's neighbors, Roger, would ocasionally stop by in the first and second seasons. He usually talked about his long-suffering from his wife. Then one day, he never came back. The second time, believe it or not, Emma, Kate's daughter, moved to college, and made occasional visits, but by the time Allie and Bob got married, she was never seen again. NOT EVEN IN THE OPENING CREDITS! I guess Ari Meyers and Sam Freed had difficulties.....unless Ari really went to college...

On "Mad About You," Selby was Paul's single buddy in the first season. By season two, Selby had vanished and Paul's cousin Ira was now his best bud.
It was never explained, but a few seasons later, Jamie mentions Selby, and Paul says "Yeah, whatever happened to him?"

good information on Laurie from that 70's show. I really like this show, it is very funny and i use to watch it all the time, but this really bothered me. If they would just say "Laurie is away at school" or "Laurie moved to california" or something I would watch it again. I don't know why it bothers me in this case so much but it really does.
Also, I heard she left because of an eating disorder. Any trueth to that. I wonder if she is ok now.....

I think Laurie was a great character too.
I don't know any more gossip about Miss Kelly's departure, the stuff i read was from a tabloid a few years back, and I don't think there's any info on her whereabouts on the official site.
Although I don't like the idea of someone taking over the role, I thought it wold be funny if they recast the part. It would make for a great in joke, and they can even have Red and Kitty commenting on how "much Laurie has changed..."

Tiffany from 227. It was like Rose did not have a daughter after season 3, Lorenzo Hollingsworth of Amen, Maggie Laugten and Millie of A Different World, Cockroach of The Cosby Show and Rodney of Family Matters. BTW Buzz and Sonia of Mama's Family. They were referred to in the "Farewell Frannie" episode but no names were ever mentioned again. SueAnne Cindy and Nancy had recurring roles on Facts Of Life but then did vanish after 1982 and then reappeared in 1986. Judy of 9 to 5. The Doctor in the original Gloria pilot.

Cousin Geri from "The Facts of Life" appeared on several episodes but never knew what happend to her. Kelly Affinado from "The Facts of Life" she appeared on some of the early-days of Edna's Edibles but then never visited again. Kevin from "The Facts of Life", appeared on a couple episodes and even thought of living in the attic, but he left also.

How about Madeline Adams (Julie Condra) and Becky Slater (Crystal McKellar--yes, that's Danica's sister!) from The Wonder Years? We never did see them after ninth grade (the 1990-91 season).

Talking Ellen, Married with Children, The Parkers

In Ellen, for the first season their was Holly (played by Holly Fulger) and Anita (Played by Maggie Wheeler, Friends Janice) and suddenly after season 2, they're gone right away! Ellen also had a neighbour, Rick played by Greg Germann from Ally McBeal for three episodes, he was obsessed with ellen in the show.

In Married With Children- Peggy and Marcy were pregnant for a season, then suddenly they weren't!

Also after they spun off the Parkers from Moesha, Moesha's character was only ever seen in one episode, it's not liked they moved far away, Andelle was still there too. I think they could've resolved the cliffhanger in the last episode of Moesha in the parkers.

For Ellen, it seems that when These Friends of Mine changed to Ellen, the show was changed too, and became a seperate show almost, possibly new people took over

I think they revamped the show because it was so obvious that the show was a blatant copy of "Friends." Heck, they even had "Friends" in the title!
The show need to center more around Ellen, not have her be in an ensemble with a bunch of pals.

In an early episode of Seinfeld, George mentioned that he had a brother. Yet, as the show went on, we never heard or saw his brother again.

Every show pulls this at least once for instance I even did this once on my TC spinoff "That 90's Show".After I decided to revamp the show more or less womanizing Paul Pope (Robert Downey Jr.) and Jules Dean (Julia Roberts),A character I didn't know what the hell to do with left the show and it was never explained.
