Pretty unique, at least. Watching that story back in the day.. I would have thought there'd be zero chance of him being found alive.

From that standpoint.. A very unexpected 'happy' ending.

I think Jim Burnside did according the UM update. I wonder what suspects that that were never caught, or went decades without being caught, watched their own segments. I always wonder about Patsy Wright's killer(s).

I wonder what Stephen Marfeo was thinking when he watched himself drinking a cup of tea pretending to grieve for Doreen. That is one of my most cringeworthy moments from UM.

As pointed out in the update, Jerry Strickland and Missy Munday watched their entire segment (just the second ever episode of UM), knew they would be caught and waited for the police. 7 hours after the episode aired, they were arrested.

There is no way Jules Caylor didn’t watch his segment.
He probably wrote a letter about how handsome he looked.

That must've been a long 7 hours

Pat Long.. Brandon Fagan's mother wasn't watching the segment, but saw the promo of the episode to air the next day featuring her and Brandon and turned herself in..

I'd consider that as good enough to qualify on this topic, even though she didn't watch her actual segment.

Remember, "Brandon" popped in here a couple of years ago and provided an update.

And, I only put that in quotes because.. Hey.. It is the internet. You never know. But.. No real reason to doubt that it was him.. Well.. Other than the fact that.. It's the internet.

I watched this segment the other day and I'm just amazed that young Missy was so swept off her feet by Strickland. He was described as this smooth talker, confident, the kind of "bad boy," you'd expect to have rugged good looks to make up for his attitude. But then they show his mug shot from a few years earlier and he's this short, plump man with a haircut that resembles Moe from the Three Stooges. I just don't get it.

Also, we'll probably never know but I'd love to find out how her life turned out when Missy was released from the juvenile home at 19 and went back to living with her insanely strict mother.

The baby Jerry and Missy had together is now 36. Yeesh.

Not a suspect in the literal sense, but IIRC, Lt Sharp Caldwell saw her picture in a UM promo and called the telecenter & solved her mystery before her story ever aired.

Didn't Dennis Keith Smith, who killed the woman who went out drinking after she found out her husband had stood her up, watch his own segment?

Yes! He was watching with two people who had no idea he was a killer. He asked them to change the channel and they refused and even commented that he had the same tattoos as the suspect on the show. I think he ended up stealing their car while trying to get away.

Craig Williamson, who was a missing person rather than a suspect.

(Though I highly suspect he simply abandoned his spouse, and to borrow a word from my English friends, his amnesia story was bullocks.)

Still, he knew the jig was up when his face showed up on Unsolved Mysteries and he'd have to bite the bullet and call in.

I could be mistaken, but, I don't remember it being stated that he watched his own UM segment. I think he was spooked by the evidence of police search in his boarding room, fled (yet again), and was eventually tracked down thereafter.
