I know the last of Newhart (for only a while, I hope) on Antenna for Newhart Year's Eve!

Channeling Dick's very brief co-hostess Buffy Denver, I really, really, really hope everyone had a totally fantastic, awesome New Year!

No offense to, who was the character, Joanne?, but that red sweater is the greatest sweater in the history of sweaters.

Yeah Joanna never looked quite like that in a sweater, especially as she never revealed her navel, but that was the first thing that popped to me mind.

Sydney lasted only 13 episodes and Cafe Americain only 18, so I figure at best they're a weekend only pickup for one of the retro nets.

I was thinking that's what Mad Magazine called their Alice parody, but turns out they used Alas.

Joanne was the wife of Dick Louden who Bob Newhart played in his second show "Newhart " where they owned the cool Bed & Breakfast Inn in Vermont!

Alex was quoting the last line of the series finale . A very quirky ending!

Joanne's sweaters were more old lady -ish than the tighter sexier one that Valerie is wearing!! Joanne's looked warm though!! It's cold in Vermont! Maybe "Dick" didn't warm her up enough!!

The best series ending ever! if ODAAT ended this way, Glenn Scarpelli would have woken up next to me, saying, "I just had the weirdest dream...I dreamt my father died and I moved into this trendy little apartment in Indianapolis, and there was this totally hot brunette in a bubble bath..."
And I would say, "Okay, Glenn, that's it. You can't watch Battle of the Network Stars before you go to bed again!"

But trendy for the '80s! Much more fashionable than what Cliff Huxtable would sport!

I know. I've seen all the Newhart series. I just wasn't 100% sure of the character's name.

She still loses the red sweater battle though
