With newborn twins, I'm surprised Jill is around as much as she is.

The show definetely found its purpose and setting, and it's now totally concentrated on Christy, Bonnie and the circle of AA friends.
It's a pity that the family aspect is now missing, but the show keeps its heart and feelings, and that's the important thing. It's also kind of inspiring to see people who have made mistakes, bad choices and regretful things, trying to get over it and improve each day, with each other help.
And it took a lot of courage from the authors to talk about some awful things the way they did. Even dramas usually dodge the topic.

After Jill in this season, I hope they will focus more on Wendy and also Maria.
Have you watched season five yet? If you did, I missed your review.

As for me, I've been watching so much of seasons 4 and 5 (and now 6), that when I watched a couple of season 2 episodes today, it felt so strange. So much Violet and Roscoe, so little Jill. I think just one appearance by "Weeping Wendy." Alvin as Bonnie's love interest instead of Adam. And that last one was the big one. I loved Alvin and missed him when he departed the series, but now I can't imagine the show without Adam. It's all good, of course, it's just an adjustment I have to make mentally when watching the early seasons.

Hi Adamantium, thanks and sorry I didn't reply but I've been missing from the board lately.
But having binge-watching the series till now I find it difficult to recall the events of one series and another. I'm still enjoying the show a lot, it is the only sitcom post 90s that I loved.

As for the previous seasons, I agree with you, it should feel strange.
No other show that I've watched changed settings and characters this much.
Maybe season 6 is having less drama than the others.

I really appreciated the Christy bits on last episode.
Overall I'm missing the most dramatic parts that were the highlights on the past seasons, now they tend to focus more on laughs and fun.

Even so, I can't get enough of this show. Once season 6 will be over, I think I'll marathon the entire series!

Last episode I saw was really good, it was the one where Christy was sick.
I've said it since the beginning: Allison Janney is superb and ends up getting all the credit, but Anna Faris too is great.

Watched the first episode of season 7... this season is gonna be crucial, and I'm wondering if the authors had thought of a way to refresh the show the same way they did -more than once- in the past.

My first idea was Christy's sentimental life. After all she can't be single forever, but she's the Ross/Frasier of the show, while Bonnie is Chandler/Niles: finding a partner for her means ending the series.

The last one was a touching episode, belonging to the original spirit of the show.
Mary was a good character, and I'm sorry they didn't give her more screentime. If ever, she had the goodbye she deserved.

Sucked that there was no episode this week
In the past the Thanksgiving (and Halloween and Christmas) episode was a must, why are festivities being ignored?

Not every show has a holiday episode.

With the last three episodes the show lightened up a bit!
It was particularly beautiful the Christmas episode (and I was wondering why they didn't holiday episodes!).
They only should balance more towards Christy, she's should be the protagonist, but she didn't feel like. Screentime isn't enough, she should get some serious plotline.

I just got into this show within the last month. I am really enjoying it, and I didn't expect to, because the subject is so sobering.

I adore Kristy, and want her to be successful in life. Bonnie is hilarious. All the supporting cast is great, too. There were also several devastating episodes that were just very well done.

Glad you're liking it! Mom is a very clever show. Just unfortunate how they wrote out Roscoe and Violet.

Yes. I don't care for shows writing out characters, as you well know!
