Same here. I also preferred NewsRadio to Friends. I never could understand the appeal of Friends.

Don't get me wrong, I liked Friends alot but I LOVED Newsradio. It was a totally different kind of comedy. I always loved watching it and still do!

Hi, I'm new to the board (just found it tonight)
I'm a fan of "NewsRadio" from the beginning.
My favourite actor was Phil Hartman. Bill was a brilliant character!!!
I have the 1-5 seasons on DVD, so I'm reliving it all over again.
Great show!!!!

Take care,

Rhiannon

Welcome to the boards. It's always great (and rare) when a NewsRadio fan comes to Sitcoms Online, lol.

Funny, I just finished watching the pilot on DVD like an hour ago. So I was kind of in the mood to talk about the show.

It's my all-time favorite show (and I like shows from all decades). The thing I like about this show is that all the characters are great. One day Matthew's my favorite character, then Bill is, then Dave, then Joe or Beth.

Oh and in the season five commentary, I'm TVAdam 717. Paul Simms read a couple questions of mine and mentioned my name. So, I was thrilled when I heard it. Even though people don't know that that's me, now you do, lol.

The DVD releases were a big deal for me. For all season (except season 4) I took a vacation from work on the week they came out. That way I wouldn't have my pesky job get in the way of my NewsRadio viewing. I would have on season 4, but I didn't know when it would be out and had already chosen my vacation weeks.

I'm hoping they'll do a reunion show or something. Even though it wouldn't be the same without Phil Hartman, I'd still watch it and I know in advance I'd love it.

Yeah, I think it would be great if they did a one-shot anniversary special, and rebuild the old set from the original blueprints and photos like they did for the Andy Griffith reunion. Dave Foley is the only cast member who looks radically different, but everyone else looks the same. Maura and Vicki are still beautiful, Andy, Joe, and Stephen look exactly the same, as well as Khandi. It would be awesome to have the old WNYX gang back together. But even if it never happens, that's what fan fiction is for. *sigh* Good times...
