Wikipedia already states that November 19 2017 was his final day but it also refers to him as still being alive.

There is no mention on his website or his facebook page.

Essentially it is over.

David Cassidy moved to ICU as condition worsens

David Cassidy was moved to the ICU on Sunday as his condition began deteriorating.

"He's in the ICU and being taken care of as best as possible right now," Cassidy's representative told the Daily News.

Cassidy was suffering from organ failure and was in need of a kidney transplant when he was admitted to a Florida hospital earlier this week. Now, the former teen heart-throb's son, Beau and his ex-wife, have been called to the hospital as the situation becomes more dire, according to TMZ.

The "Partridge Family" star is reportedly on a breathing tube.

"There's really no issue anymore for a transplant," a source said to TMZ. "It's futile."

Cassidy, 67, was placed into a medically induced coma after he arrived at the hospital on Wednesday, in an attempt to control his pain, and his family was told to expect "the worst."

It's one thing if you need a liver transplant. But once you're in organ shutdown and your kidneys don't function that's pretty much it. Your body can't last more than a day or two.

Very sad.

Very sad indeed. I know David hasn't been in the best of health lately but I'm still surprised at this sudden quick turn for the worse. Prognosis doesn't sound good, sending prayers for him.

Maybe the drinking habit caught up with him. Frequent consumption of alcohol will eventually destroy your liver.

I was a fan of David's mostly during the earlier years of his career, during the 1970's and up till about 1992, but then he went in a different direction musically and I didn't care much for his music anymore.

I have all 10 episodes of his short lived TV show David Cassidy Man Undercover, episodes are complete and uncut. David was good in this show but unfortunately the scripts weren't usually that great. If the series had better writing it might have been more of a success and lasted longer. The first five episodes of the series are overall a little better than the last five.

I wonder what is going to happen with the album project David was working on- Songs My Father Taught Me. I believe he was working on recording songs for the album this past summer, I don't know if the album got finished or if it is still incomplete. Would be interesting to know if the album will be released or not.

Sadly David's condition has worsened and doctors say he is near the end...

I noticed that.
It seemed he was slowly declining earlier in the year but then suddenly he was in a hospital in critical condition with little hope.

The chances are that that is what happened. In fact it is probably what was taking him down all along these several past months. The time when he slurred on stage was sadly not merely being intoxicated at that time but years of alcohol abuse really taking its toll.

I only heard the songs of his that were played on radio stations. My parents would not let me buy any records. With the internet I am able to listen to different songs of his that I never heard on radio (or on The Partridge Family). I recently found out about "I Am A Clown" and "I'll Have To Go Away" which are such beautiful songs and more deep than "I Think I Love You." If The Beatles or Rolling Stones or more "iconic" singers or groups sang these songs the songs would be considered really classic and respectable. But David was burdened with being a teen idol and his musical work is just not considered serious. There was some online petition going on so as to have David Inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.
I don't know what will happen with that now. (Of course there was some petition of some sort going on years back to prevent the Monkees from ever being considered for the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame, but I heard that after Davey Jones' death, there is now real consideration of inducting the Monkees).
From what I have seen and heard on the internet, David did appear on certain talk shows in the 1980s and 1990s and earlier 2000s and I understand he once promoted an album called "Old Trick New Dog" and from the performances I have seen of some of the songs on that album, his music style was different from what he sang in the 1970s. I don't think that it would have suited him to continue doing cute pop and bubblegum songs but I don't know about the style he did go on to use. It was more like what younger pop stars were doing.

Strangely "Ruby And The Rockits" was well received by critics, or that is what I heard, but it still only lasted for only 10 episodes and was cancelled. David found it hard to be considered outside of his Keith Partridge role.

He might have finished it, or some of it and it might be released at a later date. Sometimes it happens that way.
Fairly recently, un-released songs from Jim Croce were released. Those were over 30 years old.

By the way, is there any word about the rest of the Partridge Family cast?
Susan Dey? Danny Bonaduce? Shirley Jones? Any of them releasing any statements?

I wonder what the ultimately youngest surviving cast members Jeremy Gelbwaks and Brian Forster would have to say. I have said this before but chronologically they would be the last of the cast of the Partridge Family. It would be interesting to hear something from them.

What about Shaun Cassidy? Any statement from him?

I doubt anyone will say something until it's over. What are they going to say?

After The Partridge Family ended, David made three albums for RCA and all three of them are pretty good. I also like the album David released in 1990, the self titled one, and I also like the album he came out with in 1992 titled "Didn't You Used To Be". In my opinion, the 1992 album is the last good one he made. I don't care for "Old Trick New Dog", I don't like the music on that album. Then a few years later the "Touch Of Blue" album came out, but no I don't like that one either.

There seems to be the same elements as with the death of Tom Petty.

Ahh, this is just so very, very sad. Not sure if anyone else has seen the "C'Mon, Get Happy" movie, but it really conveys how much Danny saw the Partridge Family as his real family in many ways, including his idolization of his "big brother" David.

He dearly loves David, it's very obvious. He credits David with basically saving his career, if not his very life, when he allowed him to open for him for shows years ago after he'd been mired in booze and drugs.

Danny is a class act and has really pulled himself together. My prayers go out to BOTH families at this time.

Yes! So very sad! I don't even know what to say! Last night as I was trying to get to sleep, it really got to me and I couldn't sleep ! I was thinking about him young, as one of my first crushes Keith Partridge! And now he is hanging on to life! Very tragic and sad! David will always have a soft spot in my heart! He was very much a part of my and so many other people around my age's life ! I and I'm sure all of you have very good memories of his acting and music!

My thoughts and prayers are very much with David and his family!

Very sad to hear this. It's surprising how quick this developed, and it looks like the inevitable is coming.

Prayers to his family and friends.
