Okay, I feel like someone should start a UM fan-fic thread. That could be comedy gold.

On a more serious note, after recently seeing the Johnny Lee Wilson segment again on Prime, I forgot about Johnny's friend that told police that he bragged about killing Pauline Martz. The police gave him a lie detector test 6 times, and he failed all but one. If he was able to pass one test (with obviously false information), I don't see why McClure's failed test would be that big of a deal. His wife, however, would be more damning on the questions she failed. But then again, if she thought McClure was responsible, that would've registered as a failed response when she said she didn't know who was responsible for Terri's murder.

In essence, Tim could pop out of the woodwork tomorrow, in all his mullet-glory, scream from the rooftops that he killed his mother, and there is nothing we can do about it.
Why is that? Is 'dismiss without prejudice' similar to double jeopardy?

Dismissing WITH prejudice would invoke double jeopardy if the State were to charge him again. That's why the dismissal in Tim's case is so unusual. Like I said, he could tell everyone he killed his mother in the coldest of blood and there's nothing anyone could do.

here is a copy of a post at a board at THIS other site by Toni Kells

I am Terri Mc Clure’s granddaughter and everyone in my family believes Tim killed her. I don’t know where Tim’s ex wife is, but she knows the truth and chooses to be silent.

The ex-wife will never say anything. If she ends up claiming to know anything about what happened, she could be charged with accessory or obstruction of justice or other things, depending on what is revealed. As pointed out, Tim can't be touched for the murder, but the ex-wife still can be.

What motive would Tim have to kill his Mother? The motive for this murder seems to be the unsolved mystery in this case.

The most likely motive I can think of is he killed her to steal her casino winnings so he could buy more aqua net to hold up his hairdo. :P

If Tim is guilty, then he would've needed an accomplice to get back to the casino with his wife. He drove his mother to the casino where her body was found at, and killed her en route. But after abandoning her at the casino where she was found, how did he get back to the casino with his wife?

I wonder if his sister had an alibi for that time?

You make a good point. It may have been mentioned or just not mentioned, but I have always assumed his siblings did not attend his wedding. That would also make me question his sister's alibi.

I would like to know more about the McClure family and the sisters.

I've always wondered about the sisters. The life insurance policy beneficiaries were stated to be Tim and ONE of his sisters. Are there more?

Yeah, I think there were a few more siblings. My suspicion was for the one sister who was also a beneficiary. It was just her and Tim who stood to gain anything. We hear nothing from her, and Tim blamed her for why he was looking on the highway for her purse.

I'm not saying she's guilty, but I wonder if she had an alibi..

Late to this one, I just heard it on a Podcast.

Something stood out on this tragedy that I have heard nobody mention. Tim was trying to cancel his mothers credit card by saying that she was dead? I know somebody who did that exact same thing. The reason? The person in question gambled away all their mothers money on her credit card and in a panic rang up the Credit Card company trying to cancel the card by saying their mother was dead.

I'm not saying thats what happened to Tim but it would explain why he rang the CC company on the 14th saying his mother was dead.

I think its possible that Tim or Tim and his wife ran up debts on that card. Then on the day of his wedding Tim knew he would have to face his mother so he tried to cancel the card before he met her as some way of deniability. Then at his wedding his mother confronted him about it.

I just hope that charges on that credit card were checked.

That's an interesting theory. I have to imagine the police looked into any charges on her card. But it's also possible, especially during that era, that charges could have been made without knowing who really did it (lack of signatures or CCTV evidence).

Others have suspected that Tim and/or his wife were chronic gamblers and may have had gambling debts or been looking for extra money to gamble with. $5,000 isn't that much but to a gambling addict it may be quite a bit.

Just saw this S01 UM episode where TM was suspected of killing his mother. Honestly, I think he may be guilty of the crime. There are too many suspicious elements re: the way he acted:

1) Mentioning that he was looking for his mother's purse on the side of the highway, before her body was found. And, when her body was found - the purse was not with her. If he were legitimately looking for her, why would he think her purse was on the side of the highway...and, why would he mention this?!

2) Stating that he searched for his mother in every casino parking lot in the area - except for the one where she was later found in her car, dead.

3) Possibly the most suspicious thing he did was call & try to cancel her credit card the Friday before her body was found. Why would he have done this, unless he knew she was dead? Then, what added insult to injury was his lying about it later, and stating he called the day her body was found. Very suspicious.

And, yes - I definitely think $5,000 in 1983 would have been enough motivation for him to have done this...especially if he was extremely hard-up for money.

Starting with post #1348 (halfway down this page: https://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards...=62315&page=90) and continuing on to the end of this thread, you'll come upon some fascinating posts that expand upon some of the things you said
