Just asking a little "what-if" based on their personalities:

Should Tootie have worn the red vest? Should Jo have worn the blue sweater?

You know, I've seen the girls so often in either the blue sweater or the maroon vest that it actually feels a little awkward when we see them outside of their "standard" uniform. Seeing Natalie in the maroon vest, or seeing Jo in the blue sweater, or Blair in the blue blazer, is quite the novelty.

Although we typically see Tootie in the blue sweater, we also see her often enough in the maroon vest that it doesn't feel shocking, unlike Natalie in the maroon vest.

Cindy and Nancy wear the blue sweaters after Season 1, but I don't recall Sue Ann in one. And of course, Molly only wore the maroon vest in her only post-Season 1 appearance.

I would assume Sue Ann wears the blue sweater in "Gossip" (the last scene), "Sex Symbol" and "Front Page".

And I can't recall for sure if Molly wears a blue sweater in season 1 (possibly?), but it's nice that at least there are season 1 promotional photos where she's wearing one.

In Adoption, Molly wears the blue sweater to the class and continues to wear it in the scene where the 4 girls try to comfort Natalie. Of course Nancy O. and Cindy were missing in this scene. Cindy got seriously Nancied in this episode. Just a one word line in the first half.

Yes! That's where I was picturing her wearing the blue sweater, up in "Natalie's" pseudo-room.

True, but she made a comeback in the second half. In classic Nancy fashion, Nancy remained the Nancied-est.

No, in "Gossip", "Sex Symbol", and "Front Page", Sue Ann is in the maroon vest.

I know, I know, it's even one of my own philosophies, "Never assume"--but who's gonna figure one of our Eastland girls never wore a blue sweater??

Maybe her agent got it into her contract, lol.

Glad you weren't offended by my silly joke!

Ah, but Sue Ann does wear a sweater in the classroom scene in "The Facts of Love", so I just wonder why she didn't during Seasons 2 and 3. At least, I can't think of any sweater moments.

Kind of odd when you think about all the times she wore non-Eastland sweaters over her shoulders, throughout the first season.

Agent: My client is tired of wearing sweaters. She's requesting a "no-sweater clause" be appended to her contract.

Producers: Fine. The paperwork is in the basement, with Felice, Julie Anne, and Molly.

Molly also wore the blue sweater in the Facts of Love classroom scene.

Molly's another one where the blue sweater is pretty rare.

Jo, Sue Ann, Blair, and Molly rarely wore the blue sweater. Natalie rarely wore the maroon vest. Tootie, Nancy, and Cindy were mixed.

Blair and Natalie rarely wore the blue blazer, but it is seen on them.

As far as I can recall, Alex, Miko, and Brenda only wore the maroon vest. I only remember Terri and Jenny in the gym uniforms.

You can see Nancy O., Natalie, and part of Jo wearing blue sweaters here.

But that's a whole 2 out of 14 episodes, where they don't wear uniforms in many of them as it is. Sue Ann only wears it, what, once in all of hers?

I only remember the one time, but it's possible there were others.

And is there a classic Eastland episode where no-one wears an Eastland uniform? Maybe the teenage hooker episode? And Brian and Sylvia? Jo's Cousin? The Academy? I really haven't paid attention.
