call it whatever you want. realistic or not, its a great show! i thought that some of the episodes seemed were very unrealistic, but sometimes it seemed to be realistic enough. anyway, i think too much realism would have ruined the show, it was very funny and very good just as it was. i wouldnt change it if i had the chance.

Well obviously no one is as complete a goof as the character Gilligan was. And the various things that happened to them were extremely unrealistic at times. But the basic idea that a small group of people could survive on an island might be real enough, if there was plenty of food, etc. And in the 60's it was probably just possible that you could be stranded and not found on an island as large as the one there were on, though today, with all the "x"-tourism and everything, you'd see a tourist within a month no matter where you go.

The most unrealistic thing of all (besides the lack of sexual activity) was the fact that they had this perfect paradise, the perfect society, and still wanted to leave!
