Sure singing counts! Whenever you have almost mentally morphed yourself into an FOL ep! (Hey, during the theme song when they say "the facts of life are all about you" I sing "the facts of life are all about ME" everytime!) Only when I'm actually watching it though, not in the library or something!

a "new wave" band, they were ROCKABILLY--bringing back the early rock 'n' roll sounds of the '50s (i.e., NOT one of those skinny-tie bands with the synthesizers, etc., in the early '80s) <

I was born in the 80's my earliest memory is that Thompson Twins "Hold Me Now" video. They were into the synthesizer-wierd-hair thing. (and just for the record A-Ha's "Take On Me" video is the coolest!)

Also in the ep where Jo is working at that bike shop and she is dating a guy that works there and then she starts acting helpless I was like Jo come on this isn't like you, you would never stoop this low even for a guy.<

-Yeah, returning a gift within 15 minutes of gettin' it is totally rude. Every gal knows the rule; SOMEONE BUYS YOU AN UGLY ARTICLE OF CLOTHING-YOU WEAR IT ONCE IN FRONT OF THEM-AND THEN THROW IT IN THE BACK OF YOUR CLOSET!

-Yeah, Jo and the word helpless do not go together. Show that geek how to fix a Porsche right!

To marymarat,
Didn't want to confuse you about what I said in regards to '80s
new wave bands--I LOVE 'EM TOO!! In fact, we have a program here where I live on Sunday mornings, they play all '80s new wave bands for 4 hours, a show called Resurrection Flashback Sunday!! I just wanted to point out that the Stray Cats were not
a "new wave" band in the sense of the Cars, the B-52s, A Flock of Seagulls, Psychedelic Furs, Thompson Twins, the Go-Gos, Echo and the Bunnymen, the Smiths, Love and Rockets, etc., they were, for back then, considered "retro." I GREW UP ON NEW WAVE--AND IT'S STILL GREAT!!!! THE 80'S HAVE RETURNED!!!!

Oh I LOVE 80's music! Especially because I was a teen then. So many tunes bring so many memories flooding back. Especially anything by Van Halen. I'm talkin David Lee Roth VH. Oh baby, I had plans for he and I. Almost met him too after a concert but my friends weren't old enough to get in. Boo hoo!

If DLR ever reunites with VH, I AM THERE!!!!!!!!!! (even though he doesn't quite do it for me anymore.....hehehhe! VH is nothing with out him)

Great! Heh. When I sing the theme song, I either sing really loud and stand on the table in my family room, or I sit, all curled up, on the couch and almost whisper it in quiet awe (I want to still be able to hear the actual song). LOL I sound really weird, huh? Sometimes I wave at the girls during the opening credits or as they go by on my FOL screensaver. Ok, so I'm probably scaring all of you. I'll shut up.

Take it easy, Tootiefan4life :-) I said what MOMENTS. Tootie had a MOMENT in which she was freaking out totally! She deserved one of those calm-down-your-hysterical slaps. I didn't mean one of those Heather-Locklear-Melrose-Place-B*tch-Slaps! :-)

Default David Lee Roth-era Van Halen

Eva, I actually got to see VAN HALEN--WITH DIAMOND DAVE--open
up for Black Sabbath in 1978!! MAN, THEY WERE GREAT!! That first album was KILLER!!!! "Running With the Devil", "Eruption/You Really Got Me", "Ain't Talking 'Bout Love",
"I'm the One"--Van Halen's set was AMAZING!!!! Eddie Van Halen
was the COOLEST guitarist on the planet at that time--they mopped the floor with Black Sabbath!! No wonder Ozzy left! (He was fired) But Sammy Hagar was okay--he just didn't have Dave's FIRE!!

Cheers! (I don't mean to bum everybody out with that word...I'm kinda ticked too that N@N has it on a jillion times a night, when they could at least slip in an FOL ep in there somewhere!)

While we've got the subject of awesome 80's music, I wanna give a well deserved shout-out to TEARS FOR FEARS and THE MOTELS! ('Only The Lonely' rulz!)

How COOL Tad! I saw VH with Dave twice and the first time I remember screaming and crying so hard when he came out that my knees buckled and I fell to the floor. I think Eddie is the best guitarist BY FAR....EVER! Once in a while, when my kids and my hubby are asleep I pop in some of my VH tapes, plug in my headphones and relive those times. Very loud too. One of my fave albums is "Women and Children first". Some cool tunes on that one. OK OK I will stop, I know this is WAY off topic........
