Yeah she completed it. She was the lead in it.
The movie is crap though.

Edit: She was due to film her roles in The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions at the time of her death.

That just infuriates me when movies and TV series recast roles of people who have died. It makes it seem like they care more about money than the loss of the person. It's been forever since Joy Garrett on Days passed away while waiting for a transplant, but I was livid when I found out that they recast her role. Don't these people have any regard for human spirit? I mean, if it was a pivotal role, they can always rewrite it. Sorry but that's just my take on it.

The worst example of this that I can think of was the horrendous decision to attempt to recast the role of Roger Thorpe on Guiding Light after Michael Zaslow was fired (for the sin of developing Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) and later passed away. It was a blasphemy to even think that someone could fill that role that Zaslow created, defined and was forever associated with.

Still burns my behind to this day to think about that!

ME, TOO!!! My grandfather died of ALS (though he wasn't diagnosed until 2001 and passed on in 2002), so this hits home to me. I was very sad to hear about Mr. Zaslow's illness and infuriated at the callous way he was treated by the show's producers and Procter & Gamble. Talk about kicking someone when he's down.

Yeah, I don't know if you've seen them but she was the initial choice for the role of 'Zee'. After her death the role went to Nona Gaye, daughter of Marvin Gaye.

I've never watched the Matrix movies, but at the time they were released I worked in a movie theater and read all the trade magazines. I do remember hearing about Nona Gaye joining the Matrix sequels.

It's kind of strange to watch King of the Hill now and realize that "Luanne" is gone. I always liked that character (the great thing about that show is that no matter how offbeat, Judge managed to make them all sympathetic), and it's going to take a while to get used to knowing that Ms. Murphy is gone.

I recall you mentioning your grandpa's illness; I'm very sorry, that must have been awful for him and your whole family to experience.

I had a cousin who died of it; he lived with it for about 9 years but in the final few he was virtually just existing.

At any rate, I think we agree on recasting. It really needs to be done with caution and respect, if it is done at all; and in Zaslow's case it should never have been done.

Thank you so much for your kind words. My grandpa died in 2002 at the age of 84 - about 20 months after his diagnosis. Thank God he didn't have to suffer for too long. He passed away at home - in his favorite chair - peacefully. We all miss him - he was my last surviving grandparent. Michael Zaslow and his wife co-wrote a book called Not That Man Anymore - which is definitely worth reading. Just have a box of tissues with you!!
