I'm a big fan of the show, and I think they are all good actors..but John Goodman was and is by far the best in my opinion.

I agree with everything said here - the whole thing about Roseanne's comments towards John is just hard to believe. Maybe it was one of her "other" personalities who wrote it

I also agree that John, and Laurie, made the show hysterical. John is an amazing actor but will always be best in Roseanne. Roseanne herself was of course funny, but in no way could she have held that show on her own.

Funny how he talks only of drinking, no mention of his drug use at all. I hope is completely clean and on the road to take better care of his health. He is such a great actor.

I think Goodman was more important to the show than Gilbert or Metcalf. He was as equally important to the show as Roseanne. He provided balance to Roseanne's shrill, annoying personality. That show wouldn't have been half as good without John Goodman.
