Cougar Town and The Middle look the best of the 4 sitcoms(I hope these two hit)... Hank's clip was pretty good but I didn't like Modern Family's much at all.

Flash Forward looks intriguing as I expected.

I'm really liking The Middle and Hank. Cougar Town also looked pretty good. But I agree with you on Modern Family. I just didn't like the look of it.

You got to see the full pilot of Modern Family! That thing was hilarious!! So glad they showed it at upfront. And The Middle clip they showed at the upfront was great, too...the little kid tapping on his teacher's boob got BIG laughs from the audience at upfront. And the first act of Flash Forward is amazing! Great 12 minutes! Elsewhere, Hank to me looked blah...but got to see a full pilot before judgments. And the ABC House promos are awesome...vintage ABC with these promos!

I happen to agree with you Pavan. The only show that I thought looked old school and not really funny was HANK. Haven't seen the full pilot but it seems like the odd man out from the other comedies, which all seem great.

Yeah that was great and the trailers for THE MIDDLE and COUGAR TOWN are great. PLus Bill Lawrence just knows how to make a good show. Like I said HANK is really the only odd man out, but I guess they felt they needed another family comedy. It just feels old (and not just cause it's a multi cam while the others are single) and not very funny. It's not bad, just feels like you have seen this show before and that didn't really work out so well for Surviving Suburbia, although HANK looks much better than that. But as a lead off to an important night, I just wonder. Well maybe the full pilot is much better.

So far ABC looks like it has the best schedule. I like that they went to 4 comedies on Wednesday. The only problem is that the whole night will have new shows on and that's always tricky. I think Eastwick should have went on Sunday at 10. I'll give Flash Forward a try too. I just hope ABC stays with some of these shows if they don't start out strong.

I'm sure glad there's still a chance for Surviving Suburbia. That's the best new show I've seen in years!

I'm a fan, too. I'd like to get more into it in the summer, though.

Default pilots

I thought Hank looked hilarious but I'm a huge fan of Kelsey Grammar. I didn't like The Middle - it just looks like another stupid sitcom showcasing Patricia Heaton with kids in the background. I wish they would make a show that featured the kids more, like the Cosby Show. That little fellow in The Middle is cute but difficult to understand.

To me it seems The Middle is focused on the entire family. Will need to see the entire pilot before making any judgments.

The 1:00 and 0:40 ABC image promos last night were the on-air launch of the "ABC House" promos. If you saw them, what did you think? They showed about 4 of them at upfront, including the Teri Hatcher/Matthew Fox one that was on-air last night. Another one is slated for the end of the Betty finale tomorrow night.

For me, I'd like to see The Middle similar to Roseanne, with the mother the strong, central character. While it should be a comedy, we need another sitcom like Roseanne on the air.
