The main "problem" this thread has (I put it in quotation marks because I'm not too bothered by this thread but I can see why others are) is that it sort of comes across as a bit rude, and those who posted in ekkostar's birthday thread may feel that their kindness has been unappreciated.

I can see where ekkostar is coming from but I've always liked the tradition of birthday threads, even though I don't post in all of them.

A combined birthday thread would be a good idea. We have one of those on another forum, that I'm a member of. But since these birthday threads seem to be a tradition here on SO, it should stay that way.
