What gets me is that Dustin Diamond is also a stand up comic, lol.

You know, playing Screech was probably harder to get over typecasting rather than the other castmembers. But it didn't help that he continued playing Screech until the end of "The New Class" in 2000.

They should have a promo meal for a week at McDonalds so we can save his house, and come up with something like "The Screech Burger; So Nasty, It Will Make You Wanna Slap A Screech." Somewhere around those lines.

I think that people are mad because he pulls these ridiculous stunts that he pulls and offensive things that he says. I shake my head when it comes to this man from time to time.

Hmm- interesting. Well, I still like Screech and all of the gang on Saved By the Bell. But unfortunately, the real life actors and actresses aren't always necessarily just like the people they play on TV. I don't watch reality shows (because they're mostly junk) so I don't know what went down on Celebrity Fit Club and I frankly don't care. I think it's hard to say how much of those kinds of show are truly scripted or not. It doesn't matter. I'm not saying Dustin Diamond has done everything right because he's obviously had failings just as much as anyone else.
But I also think it's very easy to judge someone from afar that you don't even know. I've never met the guy and I don't know what all is going on with him. So he's writing a book. Good for him- he's allowed to. I would hope he wouldn't just be lashing out at his former coworkers from Saved By the Bell, but who knows until the book actually comes out?
You don't have to like him or everything he does, but I do think we should stop the hating on him and just try loving on him- because God loves everyone and we ought to love Him and everyone else too.

Mark-Paul was interviewed by the L.A. Times a few weeks ago and he brought up Screech's planned tell-all. He said he was looking forward to it.
