My favorite is The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo (Anybody remember Flim-Flam? I think he's the most underrated character in Scooby-Doo history).

It used to be the original series...until Turner deleted the original Main Title theme in remastering the shows.
But, if I had a choice, I prefer any of the ones which were shown between 1972 and 1978 (The New Scooby-Doo Movies, The Scooby-Doo/Dynomutt Hour, Scooby's All Star Laff-A-Lympics and Scooby's All Stars).

i'm not a huge follower of the scooby doo shows, but i'd go for 'the 13 ghosts of scooby doo'. that was a good series, which ended too soon.

Well, to be honest, I never really was a S'Doo fan, and "What's New Scooby-Doo" seems to generate the least popularity even from a diehard fan due to its using Looney Tunes style music and effects [the way other productions in the series did.] Just my opinon.

They all have their individual charms. The first series is the prototype that established the characters and the basic plots, and I also love the period feel of the music and the way they incorporated so many classic movie monster types, which was big in the late 60's.
The Scooby Doo Movies were neat because I love team-ups of any sort and it was cool to see the kids interact with the celebrities of the day. I especially liked it when they'd team up with other cartoon characters. The ABC years (1976 and on) were cool too, in that the villains and humor were a little more funky and imaginative. I loved Scooby in the Laff A Lympics too. Then came Scrappy and the main problem I always had with him was that he took all the fun out of the "dog speak" that Scooby practiced. After all these years of barely being able to understand Scooby, here comes a puppy that speak perfect English! Meh. Plus he hogged the limelight too much. I did like "13 Ghosts" because it was something original and the show's first ongoing storyline. And from what I've seen, "What's New?" is neat, too, kind of self referential and enjoyable for both kids and the adults that grew up with Scooby. I've heard there's a new Scooby series coming out this fall called "Mystery, Inc." that is set in a fictional town. |

Scooby Doo Where Are You? The original is always the best!
