Yeah, its still here and still the most popular place in town....the front end is still a 50s diner kind of thing (though completely revamped about 5 years ago), but they built an extension in the rear with a formal dinning room, about 20 years ago; and the food is still top notch as the same family has run the place since it was built.

LOL - I was going to say - still got the stools and all? wow! Yeah - it was decades ago granted, but I was there when we were down visiting the Detroit Zoo (used to be the nearest big one before they built the Toronto one). Funny how 3 of us named restaurants, all the old fashioned kind with "Blue" in the title. There's also a Bluebird Cafe in Orangeville which always reminds me of the one in the Andy Griffith show and it's top rated too (although doesn't serve shake food - it's fairly fancy stuff actually).

(That train station was torn down in the 70s, I'll bet Blue Star got a lot of business from that) |

Yep - my mother LOVED trains. Her mother and aunt lived in Tilbury and I even remember the old train station there and arriving on a foggy, rainy night just like in the old movies! Gawd that's going back now - I could only have been 4 or 5 at the time but remember it vividly. We never went to one city in particular - we stopped at towns along the way always. It was pretty cool actually. Boy those stools sure look different from the old ones I remember there! Pretty jazzy now!~ |

gah...nowhere. I get them at McDonald's and DQ. We don't have Steak & Shakes here, and I don't know that I've ever had a shake there. I have to go to KC to eat at one, and I don't eat dairy out of town. But I like the place.
We used to have this cool 50s diner that would pour the milkshake on your head (into the glass of course), or you could lie on the ground and they'd pour it in your mouth. So naturally, it's now closed last I heard.
