I agree (except I barely watch cable anymore, so the DVD player is the blood flow of my house). And I wouldn't be comfortable saying that to many outside of this board, but since you all love TV as much than I do, it's alright.

I actually know people who don't own a TV (and some of them are wealthy too!). Or they have a TV, just sitting there, collecting dust. The best is when people tell me they don't watch TV....In my head I'm yelling "WHAAAT!?"

I guess all those people can't just say they don't have the money. You'd be surprised at how many people can deal without their computers. I KNOW I CAN'T.

When I was still living with my mom, the water heater broke about a week before Christmas in 2004. $800. That was a FABULOUS Christmas, lemme tell you.

I went to a library in the not-so-great area of the city and I was confused as to why that library had a ridiculous number of computers (about 30,) while the one closer to my home only has 10. It took me a while to realize why.

I haven't had cable TV at home since August, and the only thing I really miss is watching Dr. 90210 and Miami Ink/LA Ink, but that's it. I've been able to live without cable TV, and I'm just fine with that since I have never been one for current TV to start with. And what with the WGA strike and all... *shrug*

I think in the Library you only get a certain amount of time to use a computer

I think SBTB Geek is stating that in the poorer areas of their town, people can't afford internet/computer...whereas in the better area of town, people there have their own computers at home, laptops, etc.

Geez. When I went to the UK a few years ago, the hotel I stayed in (London, England) had a computer but they charged you to use it. £1 for... ummm... I think 10 minutes of usage? (that's $2+USD, btw)

When my old computer broke down a few times I went to an internet cafe that's just downtown and it cost me $5 for 30 minutes.

Hell, tell them to give it to me. No more having to choose what to watch on certain nights.

I have a love/hate relationship with my computer... mostly hate. lol
