He is letting the contestants be the stars, which is what he absolutely needs to do. When the dust settles, i think he will be fine, he is replacing a icon & those are some big shoes to fill. |

Hopefully you can answer my next question. Does Bob Barker own a percentage of TPIR show and does he have any say in what Drew can do as the new host?

When Bob was the host, he was also the executive producer & he also had somewhat of a finanical interest as well. Bob was compensated for all the reruns that ran thru the summer, but now Bob has no affiliation with the show at all except for the memories we all have of him as host. Bob has no say on what Drew does as host. The new executive producer Syd vinnedge plays that role now. |

I have been missing TPIR for what will be three days now because of the continuous news coverage of the fires here.

What a surprise, they actually aired TPIR instead of news of the fires.
Today's episode, Drew got to use the Plinko stink for the first time. He even said that. What's more, he got to use it again right after that as the chip became stuck again. ![]() Seeing Drew jumping up and down when that girl won was so cute. She also jumped up on him! She definitely was excited to win.

It was funny though. I don't remember the Plinko clip being stuck this much before. It was fun seeing the Plinko stick again. ![]() If you can, you can catch the episodes on cbs.com now as well. They put the newest episode online by 6 PM (ET) and they stay there for the whole week. Stay safe, Irene!

TPIR is my favorite game show but I haven't watched it daily throughout the years like some people who post on this website. I have read some comments from others that have stated that Bob Barker was becoming less tolerant of the contestants as the years went by but I never noticed this. I would be interested to know your take on that issue? Thanks! |

Well as a diehard fan of the show I can see why people who watch the show reguarly would feel that way, but I have a " backstage view" as well & the show has been stacked to the max with commericals in the last 5 years because the show is such a money maker for cbs. It is the hosts responisiblity to keep the show on time & when you have a contestant who is dragging things out on stage during the game for whatever reason, the show falls behind on time. So the time has to be made up at some point & it is usually during the 4th pricing game. If you notice, more often than not they have a very simple quick game placed in that 4th slot to allow BOB & now Drew to play catch up if needed. So although it appears that bob is being quick with the contestants, sometimes his hand is forced. If the show is running long your going to see that. Roger usually schedules the " longer games" in the early part of the show & rarely at the end. |
