I don't see it as a review. His tone is to make fun at Drew's style so far. Anyway, here is your suggestion on him having his own column:
http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/...3&postcount=36

So, I guess he brought the worst out of Drew? I'm not commenting anymore on this, it is not my post, so Solomon will chime in whenever he gets online.

10 weeks to go, plenty of time. Down 5 is not that big of a hole to climb really. Last week's leader was up 6, now I have cut it to three from him. I can climb back. You're only up 3 on me.

I've been a fan of Drew Carey ever since his sitcom started in the 90's and I also liked him on WLIIA. I saw a little bit of Drew this week on TPIR and by what I saw, he looked like he always did. I didn't notice anything off about him. It's going to look strange having anybody succeed a legend like Bob Barker. Not everybody is up to the task.

As for what Brian said, he has a right to his opinion. Their's no need to get upset by it. I thought today's rant sounded more like a review too. It was mainly what Solomon had said all week in his threads so their really wasn't anything new. He has a right to his opinion but it would be nice to have other opinions as well.

Suggestion to Solomon: Draw your attention away from where Drew puts his hands and how he explains the rules. Focus instead on the way he interacts with the contestants, audience, and models, and on his commentary on the proceedings. This way, you'll have as great of a time as Drew clearly is.

Ok I will never tell anyone that he or she is wrong when it comes to an opinion. I have been watching this show religiously for 25 years & as many of you know I have a few friends who either work on the show or work out at cbs in hollywood & i can provide many interesting stories about drews first few weeks of tapings. That is for the game show forum.

Coming from a diehard fan of the show, i tend to agree with Solomon on the following fronts: I am wondering why he keeps playing with his suit jacket pockets, he does that throughout the show almost every day this week. That ultimately is not a big deal but it is something that I noticed as well.

After the 1st show I described the show as a " complete & utter mess ", the reason I said that is that he was talking way way way way to fast & barely explained the rules of the games or the big wheel or the showcases. This needs to be done every day, no matter what. With that said, i thought the rest of the week he improved in this area but he is still talking way to fast.

I think Drew is having a very difficult time with the segues in the show (going to commercials, coming out of commercials, talking back & forth with Rich fields) After some of the bigger wins this week, instead of having fun with the contestant he very quickly said " more price is right after this" He has to learn to let the contestants be the stars, He is getting better with the contestant interaction, but his post games style is bugging me quite a bit.

I am a diehard fan & i notice every single solitary thing that is different about the show & if I had more time I would list them, but ultimately I keep telling myself, this is Drew Carey, not Bob Barker. Drew is making the show his own & it is going to take time for people like me to fully welcome drew as the host of my favorite show. Drew has to make this show his own, he is stepping into shoes even bigger than mine (size 16's) & he has to walk the tightrope of keeping the tradition alive but at the same time make the show his.

I do not think Drew is in anyway insecure, if anything he is a bit arrogant, Drew has plenty of confidence so I disagree with that part of his rant.

We are 1 week into the new era, way to early to jump on or off the drew carey bandwagon. Drew walked into a tough spot & he needs time to grow intot he position, I for one will give him that time, I can't speak for everyone of my fellow price loyal friends & true, because we are very very set in out price is right ways.

By the way if anyone has any questions regarding the show feel free to ask them to me.. I can pretty much answer anything now that season 36 is under way.

From what I've read on the Game show board, Solomon, you have barely any recollection of even watching the original Price Is Right. You criticized Drew because he asked a contestant if they wanted to give a shout out to family. You asked if Drew added that feature to the show. People had to tell you that Bob Barker did that for years. You've gone on how Drew's a fat, goofy moron with tight suits. You've been posting all week that Drew isn't qualified to host TPIR, when he clearly is, as he's been doing this for years.
Maybe the bigger question is, are you qualified to review and critique shows? Sorry to say Solomon, but I think you're out of your element here. You'd be the guy to review The Jeffersons or Good Times. I'm trying to figure out what are your credentials to critique this show and other shows.
When you first took on this blog assignment, I thought we were in for a funny weekly rant, George Jefferson style. Instead, you write as if you're a critic for the NY Times, with the only difference is that you're uninformed.
I think the Weekly Rant, which should be re-titled, Weekly Review, should be written by more than one member anyway. For example, Pavan could post the topic he wants reviewed. Members could submit their interest in reviewing that topic, and whatever review is the best written and knowledgeable would get the spot in the blog that week. That would be fair. I don't think it's fair that one member gets to write their opinion in the blog every week. There are members who have watched The Price is Right for decades, and frankly, I'd like to hear from one of them. You have every right to your opinion Solomon, but why is your opinion so special? I really was expecting a funny weekly rant from you, and what you're writing is anything but that.

Yeah Maybe he will improve but I just was sampling his first week and it was FUNNY. So it's not really a review I'm doing just call it a Fun-View. Anything I think is FUNNY I include in the Rant and anyone can disagree. So Drew Hosting the Price is Right is just something that stood out this week as FUNNY to me.

Even George Hamilton would be better than Drew, or Doug Davidson who at one time did a night time version. My favorite would probably be Howie Mandel, but he's taken already.

YES, that's a good point, he doesn't appear to ENJOY doing his new job and until he does the Price is Right will be BORING.

LOL, Damm i had no idea you and Irene were such big Drew Carey Fans. Brian I'm just ranting/laughing at the hosting of Drew, and maybe he will improve but right now he just doesn't give you the Feel that he is the new Host. But don't let that ruin our friendship Ole buddy.
