dr:well when we got in her appendix had already ruptured she has an infection that has invaded the bloodstream she is a very sick little girl.
j:will she live?
dr:she has a 50/50 chance of living. The next 48 hours will be the most critical time for alexz.
jo can't say nothing for crying so much.
e:doc can we see alexz?
dr:sure. oh carol will you take mr and mrs brennan up to alexz's icu room.

JO GOES INTO ALEXZ ICU ROOM. IT IS NOT A PRETTY SIGHT SHE HAS TUBES COMING OU EVERYWHERE. JO SITS BY ALEXZ BED IN A CHAIR SHE TAKES ALEXZ HAND AND HOLDS IT WHILE TALKING TO HER.
j:god alexz why didn't you tell me that you wasn't feeling well. we would have stayed home with you.
NOW EDDIE COMES IN.

j:not good look at her she has tubes coming out the wazzo.

c:it is a possibilty. she may have brain damage?

c:well alexz went into cardiac arrest and her brain was deprived of oxygen for 5 minutes and that is very serious for a little girl.
j she be a vegetable for the rest of her life.
c:i'm not sure dr jackson is doing some test on alexz's brain and he will be out in just a minute to talk to you.

dr:well the test confirm that there is not much brain activity going on her brain.

dr:she will be on a ventalator for the rest of her. you and jo will have to decide what to do with her. i wish the news was better i am very sorry. i will be by later to check on alexz.
