The new Habs jersey was released today. The only the noticeable change is the small NHL logo which was added at the bottom of the v neck to all teams.

hmmm the necks of the jersey resemble those on the jerseys of the 1940s...well, its not TOO bad ( But, I really cant wait until Rebok loses the contract and the NHL teams can design their OWN jerseys again.......BETMAN MUST BE STOPPED!!!!!!)

I like the Montreal jerseys. They look great! It seems to me that, after looking at those awful monstrosities that the Vancouver Canucks have to wear, teams will now go for a simpler approach, mainly because they don't want to offend (or scare away) their fans. A good example would be the Calgary Flames, who also showed off their new jerseys today and they look fairly nice, too. Here they are:

Tomorrow: The Pittsburgh Crosbys have their turn! Don't miss it!

......and WHAT is with that stupid NHL crest on the neck? put it by the shirt maker's name , like it has been for at least 20 years ( It disgusts me that Montreal is being forced to have their jerseys made by Rebok instead of the Canadian company CCM that INVENTED the modern jersey, and most of the equipment the sport uses, and who made their jerseys for at least 50 years previously )

GARY BETTMAN AND REBOK MUST BE STOPPED!!!

( They arent going to win me over...can you tell? )

Today it was the Pittsburgh Penguins to take their turn in the spotlight. This is what their new uniforms will look like.

I'm not crazy about the vertical stripes along the sides but otherwise it looks very nice. Sidney Crosby, RBK's biggest meal ticket, will no doubt be pleased.

He'll just give the league contract to another company - Nike, or Adidas, whoever.

The teams should have the right to have their jerseys made by whoever they choose, and Canadian team jerseys should be made by a Canadian company

The Pitts jerseys dont really look any different than last year, far as I can tell
(Other than those ugly pointed "Jetsons" collars all the teams are being forced to wear! ) And of course, all these jerseys are meant to be tight on the body.........you can tell those #$^%#@^s at Rebok have never tried to play pond hockey in -20 degree weather, where its nice to have a LOOSE jersey that you can wear a sweatshirt and a sweater or 2 underneath!!!!

(They just DONT get it!!!!!!!!!)

I HATE Nike more than I hate Bettman and I really hate Bettman. That said, I'll go with Adidas because they own CCM.

Mikado, I've also wondered that myself. I think he once identified himself as being something like two hours south of Toronto, two hours north of Rochester ... or was it Detroit?

When I think of "Bay City" I think of the one in Michigan in the northeast part of the Lower Peninsula.

I like the Vancouver colors, but that wordmark has got to go. What were they thinking?

I've always preferred the classic jerseys. The Chicago Blackhawks red jersey is still the best in sports.
