i know EXACTLY how you feel - i did the same thing, i gave my tapes away when I was moving across the country, thinking we'd be getting the whole series on DVD soon...

i had about 220 episodes on VHS (from TVLand and WGN)

Normally I would agree with that statement, but this is the first time it actually would have been better NOT to release the second season than this butcher job....it is a mess from top to bottom, the absolute poorest put together set ever, not just the music issues, but this set changes the whole feel of the episodes, edits that have no explanation at all, the wrong theme song and poorly edited as well, non-colored silk screened discs, and shabby packaging in a standard amaray type case. Paramount should really be ashamed they released this to the public!

LOL! Yeah, very foolish, but I understand that he was trying to avoid and eliminate clutter. But I got my HD S2 DVD set yesterday, and the generic music's not so bad. In fact, I like it. I wish I could hear those replacement songs on CD or download them online.

i am so pissed that paramount did a poor job on season 2 i am telling you, nobody is going to buy season 2 especially with all of the scenes an music replace, we have been waiting a long time and this is what they give us, i bet they got a lot of letters with complaints they could spend billions of dollers on networks and not the music rights they hould have dealt with the music issues first again it makes no sense to see hd2 in the quailty that it is in, people want to see the show as it was on abc i will be shocked if season 2 does well but not to many people are going to buy it, we have to tell it like it is again paramount has to take a lot of blame for this because they do not commercial advertise there dvd's the brady bunch did well when they commerical advertised it s did andy graffith again there is no excuse i am not buying seaon 2 especailly of years of waiting its not worth

Yeah, I understand what you mean. It's like going into a restaurant and waiting a long time for your order. And when your food finally arrives after the slow service, it turns out to be lousy.

However, they did commercial advertise Happy Days S2 on DVD. Along with S2 of Laverne & Shirley and Mork & Mindy coz I saw those 3 shows advertised on TV the other night. And last night, I also saw S1 of the Odd Couple advertised on a TV commercial.

well i still say paramount pictures had no business putting happy days season 2 if the music rights wasn't address and the editing correct, i do not trust big compaines buy the way how are the sellsdoing for season 2 and does anybody think, that once paramount gets lotsof complaints they might re-released all three seconds season with the originl muaic or no, i bet when garry marshal sees the poor sells for season 2 he will be pissed, i have said all along if paramount would have commerical advertized season 1 we might would have seen season 2 face it we will not see season three because of season 2 doesn't anybody believe me paramount hurt the fans and themselves there is no way around

Default gary marshall can't do anything

just as henry winkler can't nor ron howard.etc. paramount /cbs owns the show gary marshall owns only the characters.the producers, the actors can't do anything.this situation as bad as it maybe is something we have to deal with.as long as they own the rights to the show they can put it out, not put it out what ever they choose man.it sucks but thats the bottom line.they are not going to repackage any of this because we want them to.once again it sucks but oh well.and if you don't buy it season 3 and beyond will never see a dvd release.so write , complain do what ever you gotta do .but the bottom line is sales if it bomb, as far as sales goes, forget about anymore dvds.

I've been seeing both Seasons 1 and 2 of Happy Days for $19.99 at some stores. I was tempted to get them but didnt. The same for Laverne and Shirley.

I bought season 2, I honestly don't care about music replacements. It's been so long since I saw a Happy Days episode (more than 20 years to be exact).
