It was a year ago on the 17th that we lost my father-in-law and his widow is having a very rough time with it.

Just know she'll always be with you in spirit.

I'm very sorry, I noticed the next anniversary is coming up shortly

It's going on four years since my mother died, but while the passage of time has made things much easier, I won't lie and say there aren't times (notably the holidays) that I still really miss her, and even occasionally have dreams where she's still alive.

And you always will love her too. She may be gone, but she lives on in those who love her. You may find that your deep grief will subside a bit now, at the three-year mark. I've found that to be the case, but everyone is different. Six years for my Mother this March. Not a day goes by that I don't think about her. I find that when I have problems, I miss her more. Mothers have a way of reassuring us, as no one else can.
