For the record, my mother was "interviewed"
in 1985, on her opinion of the schools in our area.

Basically she was outside at the time they were doing a story-
and they came over and asked her opinion as a "mother" in the neighborhood.

2 years ago, LOOOOOOONG after this, obviously-
I contacted the station- and they were able to send me a copy of the clip- on a studio tape- which I had to have converted-
Which cost 28.00

BUT to get it, onyl cost me shipping and their studio tape.

This was a PBS station baybe they are different, but you CAN get things from just contacting the source.

In example, I know of people who went and got the original Johnny Carson promo stuff just for asking.

So when all else fails go to the source.

The otheoblem I have wit this site is they are a loan. You have to return the tapes once you are finnished.

I waslooking for CBS covrage of Richard Schlesinger interviewing Nelson Mandela after is release from prison also coverage of th AIDS epidemic from 1985.

the news footage being a loan would be cool if it was the entire broadcast because u could just dub it

You can get entire broadcasts, but you have the option of getting just part of it.

I live in a small town in VA it is kind of neat hearing about my town in the 70's and 80's.

My town was mentioned on July 6, 1977 on the ABC news
NBC News 10/14/1977
ABC News - 3/10/1980
CBS News - 4/24/1983
NBC - 9/3/1988
CBS - 4/18/1989
ABC - 9/4/1992
CNN - 3/24/1996 (All About George Washington's Boyhood Home which is about 7/10ths of a mile from my house.

Supposedly Ferry Farm (The Name of George's House) is where he cut down the cherry tree. Maybe it wasn't him at all and it was Harvey all along.

That's one thing that the history books never explain. The cherry tree was chopped down, George took the blame, and it was Harvey that did it! I'll bet in later years, Harvey tried to steal Martha away from George too. Bad Harvey!!
