I also have The Commodores Heroes album on cd burned off the internet cause it's not available to buy on cd. That's a very good album also that has the hit songs Jesus Is Love, Old Fashioned Love, Celebrate.
I agree. "Stuck on You" was sounded like a country song. Lionel Richie was just a unique artist. He did a lot of songs during his solo years after he left the Commodores. And by the way, where did you copy a CD off the internet from? I've got to tell you, I have the album on cassette called "Midnight Magic" featuring "Sail On" and "Still" and I used to have a cassette called "In the Pocket" back when I was a kid since I was in Puerto Rico but I lost it.

Nope, it was Prince's year. The Purple Rain album hit #1 in July '84 and stayed there until early '85. When Doves Cry was the number one single of the year and kept Springsteen's Dancing In The Dark from hitting #1 on the weekly singles chart. He followed that up with another #1 with Let's Go Crazy, then two more top ten's before the year was over: Purple Rain and I Would Die 4 U. Not to mention the movie, the tour or the the top tens for Sheila E. and Chaka Khan he wrote/produced that year. Not taking anything from Springsteen but 1984 was Prince's year.

This sure was Prince's year. This album immediately took half of the people away who were listening to Thriller.

I'd say 1985 was more Springsteen's year. Born In The U.S.A. came out in 84 but really peaked in 85 and the bulk of the singles were hits that year.

I know I'll be shot for this, but I always preferred both Tom Petty and John Mellencamp to The Boss.

KRS One has a song called Plan Up Your Family on Booty Call soundtrack where he samples Lionel's Love Will Find A Way song. The Dogg Pound also sampled Love Will Find A Way for I Don't Like To Dream About Gettin Paid song. I can't believe The Commodores continued to release albums after Lionel left the group hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. I saw at Artistdirect.com that the Commodores had at least 5-6 albums they did after Lionel left. I know those albums didn't sell jack hahahahahahahahahaha. Nightshift is the only decent album they had after he left.
