Holly and Cami, thank you so much for posting. I know it must be difficult to write about personal trauma out in the open on a public message board. I'm very sorry for what you all had to go through. If I recall correctly, it was mentioned in the broadcast that you all moved from your mother's home at 17 because of how bad it was. I can only imagine. I am glad John is doing well and hope that you won't be bothered in the future.

John is now 30 years old. It has never bothered Cammy or I to talk about it,since we have done nothing wrong and we have distanced ourselves from Connie (no longer our "mother"). It is all history now and we no longer have much emotion about it. It was a journey for us, which I believe we navigated quite well and proves that good will triumph over evil in the end.

Thanks for posting. I had wondered over the years how John was. Its terrible that she was still trying to stalk him in his teens. Is he able to keep his distance from her now or is she still trying to find him?

Well, as Connie's youngest daughter, Jonna, I must say that it still
amazes me after all these years that Connie is still a discussion. Like stumbling upon this discussion thread, just because I happened to look at someone's FB page. Local newspapers still have 'anniversary' updates about the murder trial and its been more than 20 yrs ago. Absolutely astounding
how it has affected people.

I'm curious what murder trial you're referring to.

Thanks so much for posting. It is interesting how it is still brought up. Many of us had never even heard of his case until the last 5 years or so when the Live Episode cropped up so thats why its still discussed here. Its hard to believe it happened that long ago.

Oh, I thought the murder trial was mentioned in the UM clip. Connie was acquitted for murdering her boyfriend back in 1978. Then went on to kidnap my nephew and generally thumb her nose at the law and wreak havoc on our family.

Ohh, okay. I haven't watched the segment in a while but they may have mentioned it briefly in the beginning. Can you tell us the basic details of the murder or possibly a link to an article about it? Not sure if you want to answer this so if you don't no problem, but do you think she killed her boyfriend? Thanks!

I KNOW she killed her BF. She admitted to shooting him in the head 3 times while he slept. But still was acquitted for self defense. Great system we have. Just google Constance Harman murder trial. Bucks county PA. May be misspelled as Harmon. Our family had to endure a highly publicized murder trial in an affluent neighborhood. I was the youngest, 13 at the time, Cami was 15-16, Holly was 18-19.

Jonna, Cami and Holly, thanks for posting here and letting us know how things are going.

Oddly enough the segment never mentioned the murder as I recall, or the name change for that matter. That makes a major twist in the story.

We are glad to hear you all have been able to move on with your lives and to stay close as sisters. Also we are glad to hear John has been doing well.

I would like to say I think Cami really came across as a mother who tried to do the best for her son the best she could in the segment. John is very lucky to have him as his mother. I hope they have been able to mend their relationship over time since obviously the grandmother tried to essentially steal him, not only from Cami but from his aunts as well.

I looked up John Minieka on Facebook and it looks like he is reacquainted with his grandma Tracy, even though I read that he, his mother and the rest of Tracy's children cut off all contact with her. I guess there's some people you just can't get away from.

I went to elementary school in Bensalem with John Minieka. I remember that my best friend at the time had a crush on him and we both were alarmed when he disappeared from school. I vaguely remember rumors of his kidnapping by his Grandmother and I specifically remember when they were filming the UM episode because it was around the corner from my house. Throughout the years whenever anyone mentioned UM I would think about John and wonder what happened. I definitely tried to do internet searches over the years but until now I've never found any results. I just happened to start watching UM today because it's free with my Roku. This resparked the memory and led me to this thread. I'm so happy to read these updates!
